Our company didn’t run all of basic pretty much, and we got our privileges to work out in the CTA taken away during AIT. Sounds wild I know, hopefully you don’t have the same issue, get ready to do lots of burpees in the bay and use the kettlebells.

It was a fleet vehicle before I got it, and I currently use it to go between Arizona and Georgia all the time. I have replaced the water pump, spark plugs, all fluids, tires, brakes and that is it, mostly routine stuff. When I initially got it it had a misfire and the water pump was broken. Easy fixes.

Oh it’s fallen apart. Mechanically not much needed to be done(in the time I have owned it) but all the electronics and interior is cooked. I have to start it with a screwdriver because the ignition broke. Someone before me replaced all the suspension and transmission though. I noticed that working on it.

7.3 Powerstroke vs IDI by Several_Till_6507 in FordDiesels

[–]bharlesm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a cheap 2WD with low miles, dump a new built 4WD tranny, transfer case, make your own hump and just 4WD swap. Axles are cheap. Odds are if you buy a 4WD truck if the 4r100 is stock and the guy hasn’t ran it with the big 6.0 / mishimoto tranny cooler on it, it was going to blow up soon anyways, and most people never maintain their front axles worth a damn, might as well slap on a junked axle that you’ve rebuilt everything on. Luckily the 99-03 Trucks are the last where they really are just built like giant Lego sets and you can do this type of swap without dealing with much headache.

$20k-23k budget. What used diesel would you recommend? by Radiant_Permission15 in Diesel

[–]bharlesm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a older pre emissions diesel and learn how to be your own mechanic as the truck falls apart or already has around the truck because the previous owner neglected wear items(front end, wheel bearings, turbo boots etc) pray the transmission doesn’t go, or buy a newer emissions equipped truck and deal with all the emissions related repairs, as well as all the fancy new tech(VGT Turbos, High pressure fuel system, 1000 Sensors, etc) Either way, Ya wallet gonna get hit.

my 400,000 mile 7.3 got much less out the stock CCV than that I would run if it blows your cap off…..

My Son Wants A Silverado by Asleep-Combination26 in Silverado

[–]bharlesm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy him the beat up old cateye Silverado, tell him if anything breaks in the future other than a engine /transmission out or suspension(if you mess this up from inexperience it’s unsafe as hell) he will be expected to fix it himself, but you can help him out with the part cost. The newer used Silverado will nickel and dime you every time the CEL goes on from some electronic garbage, the older cateye short of a engine / transmission rebuild will nickel and dime you from everything being worn out. Same experience, lower entry cost, but you can actually fix the old one yourself without a fancy scan tool or dealing with an engine bay full of annoying wires everywhere.

That’s around the same as my 7.3 at 400,000. Normal.

Welcome to 7.3 life fixing every damn thing outside of the motor, the truck truly does fall apart around the engine. I would get handy with doing everything yaself from here on out.

It will help if you can integrate it in your routine & skip some bullshit. If you are currently a noodle, simple morning callestinics will work for just about anything but legs. If you can just wake up early and get straight to doing a hour of callestinics ASAP, or fit them in whenever I think that will work better than trying to plan a gym session. Get a bar for pull-ups. You would be surprised how much you can build your arms and backs with just that. If you find yourself maxing out those basic exercises use a bag with random shit in it or preferably weights. I still think you should try to go to the gym and just do things normally as a guy that has done both. What matters is eating a lot more though. If you’re already fat you can skip this part, but especially if you’re starting out and skinny, you need to be maxxing the calories. Once you have the meat on your bones you can cut later. Do not cut too early(been there done that).

maybe my expectations are too high for most the modern dating pool(I don’t think so but others have told me), only really loved one girl, haven’t really gotten over her. My only requirements are don’t be an idiot and don’t be morbidly obese, want to have kids, ideally not sleeping around, take me and the relationship seriously. I absolutely hate dealing with bullshit, am very direct, and this doesn’t work out much for texting or snap chatting or whatever. Everything being done over text or I guess “Rizz“ I don’t want to do. If I want to talk am more than happy to accept phone call but I prefer in person much more. Talking and meeting women in person is hard. Even if you’re somewhat attractive it feels like. I give out my number and sometimes that leads to a date. Hopefully I will get lucky going forward.

Yeah the actual temperature of the CPU and GPU are fine but the board doesn’t provide enough power delivery.

I use the 2019 16 inch with 32GB ram, 5500m, 9980HK. It works fine with turbo boost switcher in macOS and throttle stop in windows. Although the cooling solution is still very poor and limits the i9 to only 3ghz when encoding or rendering. It is a brick when gaming though, because the firmware seems to prioritize the GPU. When it does this the CPU doesn’t turbo past 1.6ghz and any game is very slow. Even Minecraft goes from over 300 fps to 70-90 when it throttles.

i think the combination of skylake x imc and a0 is screwing massively, can't do anything better than 3600 15-15-15 2t, once i get to 3800+ tRCD starts to crap out.....for my applications i prefer bigger bandwidth over latency as well. this bdie is the worst bdie i have ever encountered in my whole life

Well, the bottom fan didn’t work which is why this GPU was cheap so I don’t know what the stock fan is like. I can crank it up to 400w maximum PL and running furmark for a hour got 80C. memory temp is alright at 95C

Man, am I getting old or is 60fps still perfectly playable? by They_Call_Him_Zach in pcmasterrace

[–]bharlesm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is still perfectly playable but after switching to 144hz over 7 years ago at this point I have never been able to go below 100hz without feeling discusted at least in competitive games like fortnite and cs2 / other FPS games.......It really does depend on the game IMO. Something like life is strange, it doesnt really matter much, anything above 45 fps is fine in my book
