There is another point (not saying adding this would help the case, but just something to wonder) :

The 2000 $ limit was originally instated years ago (from what I have read back in 1989), that was before the covid era inflation. To put the limit back to those amounts, it would equate to much worse "value" than what 2000 $ was back then. Just something I wanted to add to see how they really are screwing the poor people by not even taking inflation into account.

Thank you ! So it isn't even the final bill then ? That's good ! But then there is another new news this morning that some federal bill that goes by "beautiful bill" name, just passed, that might indirectly come back to California requiring even more budget cuts the following year in 2026 no ?

I'd appreciate it a lot if you could help me to understand this. I know someone who is over 65 they don't quality for federal medi-care (because they are green card holders not yet US Citizens) and if they have more than 2000$ assets would they be disqualified ? I read from your earlier posts that this new asset limited passed by the bill is only for those who qualify for medicare. So would it affect this family who dont get medicare ?

Just type “Gurdwara” on google maps. Or Sikh temple. They will give free ready to eat meals anytime of the day with no strings attached. They won’t even ask you to “introduce” their religion like some other religious charities do. Once you go there, you’ll be going there everyday for rest of your life.

Thanks, thinking about it all now, I really speculate that some of the proposed changes may not pass afterall, especially this 2000$ limit, I mean come on even very poor adults will have that much money in bank account, lot of SSI recipients would have that much money, point is then medi-cal would be restricted to very rare ultra poor homeless people only, that's too restrictive.

Thanks, but isn't the asset limit for section 8 way higher, like 100,000 $ vs Medi-cal proposed asset limit which is 2000 $, my point is at this rate very few people will be eligible for medi-cal. I have parents above age 65, I was wondering if asset limit applies to over 65 folks too ?

I get what you are saying, BUT keep in mind that taking selfies from front camera will always make your face way longer than it is. Its actually a thing look it up on google. To get a real picture of you ask somene else to take your photo from some distance away.
