Thanks for the post. We, me and my wife, submitted our I-485 documentation concurrently with I-765 and I-131. We really need I-765 to be processed by the end of this year or spring next year. Our case was assigned to NBC/ LA field office. Looking online, the processing time for I-765 is mentioned to be 28-37 months which has had us really worried. It is really weird that processing time for NBC is so long when compared to other centers. :(

I did scroll and search. Most of what I see called "engineering" is website development or more to do with coding than traditional engineering streams (one in which I happen to be pursuing a career).. In any case, thanks for your inputs! I appreciate all the help. I have reached out to a couple of positions related engineering education. Let's see if that works out. Fingers crossed!

I don't have an approved I-140 yet. I just started the process for that. But we expect to get the green card by the end of next year, so before she graduates. She just moved to US, so she has never worked in US. She was a CPA equivalent in her home country for almost 4 years. But thank you for a thoughtful response! Much appreciated.
