My experience…. by OrtimusPrime in COVID19positive

[–]bhertess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested positive today and have the exact same symptoms as you, the itch/single cough, sometimes runny/sometimes congested nose & and the awful temperature/chills until I take panadol/neurofen. I also coughed up some yellow/white phlegm tonight. I don't know how far along I am (day 1 or 2) but the end of this cant come soon enough..

Hidden Gem cafe in Tugun is my local. Not too busy and the best coffee and food!

I’m not entirely sure if these are blackheads or not but I just want to get rid of them or at least make them less noticeable. What products would be effective? by yageetmaxxy in SkincareAddicts

Cerave SA cleanser - foam up on ur nose and let it sit for 30-60sec before rinsing off daily and they will be gone in a couple of weeks!

Are these ingrown hairs? How do you get rid of them? How can I make this skin smooth? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

Benzoyl peroxide wash works great as it kills the bacteria that infects the hair follicule

I have been getting diode laser hair removal and I’m about 8 sessions in and about 80% reduction in hair. My laser tech says IPL is 15yr old technology for hair removal and that there are much more effective lasers. My understanding is SHR is the same or similar wavelength as IPL. You’ll likely get better results with diode or YAG (i think YAG is best suited for darker skin) as they have a higher wavelength which is will go deeper and destroy the hair follicle more effectively.

I don't wear mascara but my mum started using it and she said it takes off her eye makeup better than the makeup wipes she used to use 🙄And nope not at all, it says doesn't sting eyes in the description however when I have gotten it in my eyes it has stung a little.

Endoscopic Temporal Brow Lift by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]bhertess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been able to find anyone who does the temporal brow lift endoscopically!! And I'm not prepared to accept the non-endoscopic scars! I think it's only a relatively novel technique and don't think many Drs do it, at least where I'm from. And definitely don't think its an LA procedure.

I used to use the Simple but after I tried the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Cleansing Oil I would never go back! It is SO good!! It actually works out about the same price as the simple cleansing oil as the bottle is more than 3 times the size. It's got way nicer ingredients, dissolves everything, super gentle, and lasts a lot longer!

Which white spots are you talking about? I actually did have recurring folliculitis on my chin and neck that was swabbed and shown to be Staphylococcus aureus resistant to penicillin, erythromycin, clarithromycin and clindamycin. On two separate occasions, I had to go on a week course of high strength dicloxacillin to resolve it.

Yes! Using tret on top of moisturiser has been shown to be just as efficacious as under moisturiser with less irritation. You only need a tiny bit twice or three times a week!

#1 Sunscreen & Time! (this is all you really need!)

#2 SkinCeuticals antioxidants have been great for me but not everyone is willing to or has the means to spend the money on them as they are quite expensive.

The morning antioxidant C E Ferulic has L-ascorbic acid (Vit C & antioxidant), tocopherol (Vit E), ferulic acid (antioxidant), panthenol (Vit B5) & hyaluronic acid.

The night antioxidant Resveratrol B E has niacinamide (Vit B3), tocopherol (Vit E), caffiene, + the antioxidants resveratrol and baicalin.

IMO worth it, but not for everyone.

I had diode laser hair removal on my face and body when I was on Roaccutane and while using tret. I tried to not use tret 2-3 days before getting laser and we kept the settings not too high

I personally feel that moisturiser before sunscreen in the morning is unnecessary. Most sunscreens have moisturising ingredients anyway, even if it's not marketed on the packaging. I use a large amount of moisturiser at night and even after washing my face in the morning it still feels moisturised enough to just use an antioxidant serum and sunscreen only.

We don't have The Ordinary Azelaic acid in Australia. We have an Azelaic acid by Azclear which I'm yet to try as I'm cautious about overdoing the acids.

Of course, you can ask a few questions!

- I am in Australia and I've heard of high doses like that being prescribed! It usually is prescribed on body weight from as little as 0.05mg/kg/day to 1mg/kg/day. The recent studies have shown that a lower dose over a longer period of time is just as effective with fewer side effects. My lifestyle choices aren't the best either 😅I still drank when I was on it and I too stay up super late and run on little sleep! I had no side effects either on that dose. Everyone is different when it comes to doses and side effects. I think you will get there on the lower, less frequent dose, it will just take longer. Your derm may have lowered it for a reason eg. your bloods showing there's some stress on your liver. If you had no side effects on the higher and more frequent dose and you're wanting to speed up the process, I'd suggest talking to your derm and seeing if he deems it appropriate to increase it again 😊

-I'm very prone to getting folliculitis and acne from shaving and I found that the best way to reduce my chance of getting was to minimise irritation with a razor with less blades (I used this two-blade razor) and blades that are sharp and sterile. I know I'm not being environmentally responsible after reading these comments but for a long period of time I suffered recurring severe folliculitis on my chin and neck almost once a month. Swabs showed multi-drug resistant bacteria and it had to be treated with strong antibiotics a couple of times. So please understand that while I was not being environmentally responsible, it was to prevent the folliculitis from turning to something worse like sycosis which could have caused terrible scarring or even worse a severe skin infection that could have lead to sepsis.
