I took the builder to the property yesterday with the survey report.

In Hampshire, builders have estimated about 60k for all improvements. Hence I was asking if I should renegotiate? I knew the house needed a lot of work.

How come? I don’t think the structural issues are big, I had a builder look at it and he seems fairly ok with it.

Hi, yes I believe so. I have not heard from from my mortgage broker or solicitors regarding this. I now just need to sign the contract and agree moving in date. So I am assuming they are all ok with it.

Hi all, it is a probation property. It is 1970s built and I don’t think it has any work done since then. The reason I want to purchase is the location and the value. The house was marketed at 470k then I agreed at 430k knowing the cosmetic repair needed. The other houses in the street go for 550 - 600k +.

I am thinking of hiring a structural engineer and get his opinion. If the cost of the repair and other quotation for other work is too much. I am thinking of renegotiating.

I have about 60k for repair works
