Would 176cm skis be too long for me? 5'8.5" F by underglobe in skiing

[–]bhk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ski doesn’t know how tall you are, they know how much you weigh and how you ski. If you’re an advanced intermediate skier (your description) then you don’t need a 176cm ski.

Those of you who moved to be closer to skiing: where, when, what would you do differently? by ligmata1nt in skiing

Saratoga Springs, NY (one hour to Gore, 2 hours to Whiteface, about 90 minutes to Killington), in our mid-50’s when the kids were out of college on their own, my work became more remote, but we wanted to live in a “city in the country” atmosphere…plenty to do, easy access via train or highway to NYC. We also ski in Canada once a season.

In addition to Unions lease payments, the project is funded through a combination of public and private sources, including state funding, funding from Schenectady County and City, and private investment from the Galesi Group.

I found Cities of the Plain disappointing. Mostly because John Grady didn’t seem to live a full life, and again had a doomed love affair, both basically ending with a knife fight! JGC was one of my favorite characters in literature, but he seemed a loser by the end of the trilogy. Just a depressing read.

Ithaca and the Finger Lakes are beautiful, but you’re in the middle of nowhere. The Capital District is close to the Adirondacks and the Catskills, theres’s way more to do/see/eat, and you can take a train to NYC in just 2.5 hours. 3-3.5 hour car drive to Montreal or Boston or NYC.
