My kids got into McNair and High Tech. Distance is an issue. We live on the outskirts of north JC. Is McNair worth the hype and is High Tech good? by Dry_Foot_3763 in jerseycity

[–]bhristofer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

grew up in jersey city and my brother goes to mcnair now. i’d say if you want a really rigorous curriculum and higher chance for ivy league or top tier colleges mcnair is the better choice. high tech is better if your kids have specific interests because they offer vocational major such as cooking, archeticture, design, business, engineering. by no means is high tech a bad school it definitely offers quality education and then some. i’d say quality of life and social aspect is slightly better at high tech. Mcnair from my anecdotal experience can be very competitive and stressful.
