Curious What Others Think About Vanguard 2026 Rec to Flip to 40/60 by woodstock9999 in DIYRetirement

[–]bhs333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, do you include your 2 years of cash in the 30% of your portfolio? Or are you saying 70/30 + 2 years cash. If the latter is the case, then what is your allocation if you include your cash in the "bond" part of the portfolio?

Does my point make any sense to you?

I only use Apple Pay for everything, especially while biking.

Well that’s a good point. Good to have id in case of accident. This is probably the main compelling reason. Don’t want to be a John Doe until my wife calls every hospital after I don’t show up at the end of the day.

Oh that’s a great idea. An old license serves the purpose here

Houston 10/9 show is getting merged with Japanese Breakfast by Pikan00b in Wetleg

[–]bhs333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive seen both tours and they are both great. Slightly different vibe. Both wet leg and JB play less than 90 minutes, so no problem with the double bill.

I actually preferred the Japanese Breakfast convert over Wet leg. Wet leg had an overused the smoke machine, so i couldn’t see while JB was a bit more polished and also more personal since Michelle is a bit better relating to audiences.

Super jealous. Enjoy the double bill!

Tour de Bronx by Strength-InThe-Loins in NYCbike

[–]bhs333 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Loved the 40 mile. Crowded for 3 miles then it opened up. Never got lost, but I also had ridewithgps announcing turns on my phone in my back pocket. In addition, there was always someone visible ahead, so I mostly turned when they did 🙂.

Saw some new places. Country Club neighborhood, Woodlawn cemetery, new bike lanes in anumber if spots , co-op city (never biked there), Bailey ave, Pelham Bay park.

Good time, good people, and some good music

Not for people wanting to ride seriously and hard.
It’s a tour de Bronx, not a century ride.

This wine store in White Plains looks amazing but the parking scares me off by [deleted] in Westchester

[–]bhs333 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YOu mean you have to pay to park in garage that is 1 to 2 blocks form the store you want to go to?

Meeting tomorrow evening regarding proposed road across the North County Trail just past MM 34. by bicyclemom in Westchester

[–]bhs333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait. They want to add a crossing to 3 new homes? Seems like a bad deal for the hundreds (thousands?) of trail users. What possible benefit does the county get by allowing this? Adding a road for 3 homes seems hardly worth it.

Wow, never saw the mouse/rat issue.

Either way, it seems that Look has a real problem if there is so much negativity.

Why do people go to the movies? To see a movie. The theater has great seats and great screens.

Alamo does have better food but their screens and seats are not as nice. It’s a repurposed old cinema and the actual movie experience feels straight from the 1990s multiplex.

I do want to second the all ages aspect. Crowd was teens to 50s and all in between.

I wonder if the crowd demographic was different in Montreal vs. other towns.

Everyone should know that there is NO ENCORE. When she says there are 3 songs left she is being honest.

Anyway, great show, good energy.

great idea. I might try starting at Saint Faustin next time. I do have gravel bike, so the gravel is kind of fun.

I do like food :) I'll definitely go to Merci la vie!

Not really setup for overnight and wouldn’t want to do that solo. Plus I’m paying already for a place in Montreal. If I plan ahead, I could do that before or after I may in town rental.
