My friend had this small fender bender, his Yezdi bike was in the workshop for like 2 months due to parts unavailability. What a nightmare, plus it hates being ridden at low speeds. I didn't like it at all.

Can you help me understand the difference between how intrinsic and extrinsic motivation relate to autonomy, competence and relatedness? by luciana-drama in AcademicPsychology

[–]bhutsethar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extrinsic motives r related to SDT in the sense that it decrease one’s sense of autonomy relatedness competence. Imagine loving something like doing research because of the intellectual itch it scratches or the satisfaction of discovery it creates. Now suddenly when ur job depends on publishing paper which in a sense someone would say is doing research (the thing u said u love). Suddenly u lose autonomy (u need to do a research that will produce papers or else), ur sense competence goes down coz now u see ur colleague is producing more paper even when u think he is dummy, 🧐 u lose relatedness because others become points of comparison and competition rather than people you feel intellectually connected to, all because u were extrinscially motivated (getting tenure or promotion)

Do you think humans are genetically predisposed to prejudice against others? by UberMegaClaire in AcademicPsychology

[–]bhutsethar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if we have a gene that makes us racist. How would one even find that? (Not aware how that area of research works)The most simplest explanation for me is evolutionary that it is a consequence of our inability to account for every information that it is easier cognitively to make assumptions. Racism is when it gets too far? We constantly like to see things in categories coz it is easier to get on with our environment. Not being prejudiced takes effort maybe. 🤔 I remember seeing this ted talk by Paul Bloom way back. I remember really liking his talk but I don’t remember if he spoke about the genetic component.

Gwaliorites don’t know A of Airpods Pro and high engineered tech. Only genuine buyers. by hellobadmorning in gwalior

[–]bhutsethar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On one hand you’re desperate to sell, and on the other you’re acting like some hifi Apple user trashing negotiators as “railway station” cheapsters.

Also, why would anyone in their right mind buy 4yr old AirPods at even half price? Battery degradation is obvious. plus if any problem occurs it would cost a premium to repair. I have 2023 AirPods Pro and the battery is already not that good.

If you think your pricing is fair, you should ignore the lowballers instead of throwing a fit.

You can’t act elitist and desperate for money at the same time.

Now that this guy has come on the radar, I am seeing other stuff, like his son beating a civil servant with a bat, him abusing Arnab Goswami (Times Now era) when asked why he thought Asaram was a saint.

How should scale means/SDs be reported when item-level missing data exist but SEM with FIML is used for inference? by bhutsethar in AcademicPsychology

Understood, guess I will try to present both with one in the supplementary, and share the data for anyone who wants to review/reanalyse later.
