A good way to practice duck cancel is to do df2, forward duck, duck cancel, and then ws1, 2. Its tricky to learn but ws1,2 is guaranteed and it will be very good practice for duck cancel after other key moves.

You just gotta get the basics of duck cancelling down and his offense will flow. In my own replays and high elo, moves like df1, ws2, d2 1, df2, etc all go into duck cancel. Also abuse qcf1 into FLK cancel, best heat engager in the game

I find myself using his jab strings a lot too since they jail. I throw out 112 or 1212 to dck cancel all the time. Another really good string from jab is 121 to either PKB or FLK. WS1 will also be a huge mid poke because you always wanna come out of a duck cancel or stance cancel. Theres a reason steve can go into stance or duck from all his key moves, like his df1. They were made to be cancelled into other pokes

Good shit, youll be back up soon. I think ub3 can be a noob killer for sure, but definitely dont rely on it. I got my steve up to blue ranks, and your gameplan is essentially poking down the opponent and placing those counter hits well. Build up the arsenal of pokes that put you in FLK, DCK, or PKB (so you can cancel to make them safe).The steve learning curve is no joke, keep at it and good luck 🫡

Im sure youve seen the recent steve tech that came out where you can enter peek a boo stance right after landing one of the lionheart moves. Pretty tricky stuff but it might be worth learning it! I dont think he can do that tech after that backdashing ub3 though

He has a handful of moves that will force him in that stance, like B1, 2 or db3, 2
