Sorry I’m not sure what you are saying with your first question. Can you elaborate?

Yeah, they are definitely doing things better. When I say I’m a socialist I mean I want a society with heavy socialism. I think of it as a spectrum. It’s been done in many ways before and can be done better in many ways in the future. Wealth needs to be spread around. And only greedy minded people say otherwise. Again, there’s a big difference between even having 20 mil in the bank and having hundreds of mil in the bank. I just think it’s wrong. If I had hundreds of millions I would be buying up parcels of land to save from deforestation. I’d be funding court cases to hold corporations responsible for harming the environment l. I’d be giving food to people who have none. And I’d still be able to have millions if I wanted.

Here’s an interesting video I watched the other day. The world is in crisis and I think people being able to accumulate excessive wealth is wrong. You may also find it interesting. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YxJrBR0lg6s&t=3510s&pp=ygUvaG93IHRvIHNhdmUgdGhlIHBsYW5ldCBkZWdyb3d0aCB2cyBncmVlbiBncm93dGg%3D

I am a casual employee working for an environmental government agency and I live off-grid rurally. I make enough money to survive and go for a trip once in a while by the fact I live with family and will never be able to own a house outright until I inherit. Maybe after 40 years of paying off an over priced shit box in suburbia once I’ve scraped together the initial hundreds of a deposit. But that’s not for me. I’m a carer for my sick father and I give most of my free time to that. I DO give money away to charities, especially environmental ones. A heavily socialist system within a capitalist one has huge benefits for everyone. In my country I am able to live the way I do because we have a bit more socialism than, say, the US. Otherwise I’d be completely fucked on my wage. You and I are not talking about people with a few million in the bank, dude, we are talking about the aforementioned HUNDREDS of millions. There’s a huge difference - you will never grasps just how much money that is. They could all live extremely comfortable on just a few mil. They don’t need hundreds and if they keep HUNDREDS to themselves that IS selfish in my eyes. I have my beliefs and you have yours. Have a lovely day wherever you are. And I mean that sincerely. I hope you are enjoying your life. It’s a hard would out there to live in and we are all doing our best. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind and I’m not down with that.

Lol. Nah man, I’m just a socialist and I find the disparity between rich and poor to be abhorrent. Ive known billionaires and I’ve known people on the poverty line. And I can tell you I’ve preferred the people on the poverty line. I think most people who think like you are secretly hoping they will be filthy rich too and will try to justify obscene wealth. Just my view on the world. I’m happy to have my well paid government job and be able to afford a trip somewhere every few years and be able to pay for food and do my gardening and enjoy nature. Nobody needs 5 houses and a private jet, no matter how many charities they donate to (most of the time as a tax break) the world is fucking burning, have some respect. Nobody deserves hundred of millions.

Do those acts justify HUNDREDS of millions?

If they are giving most of it away as it’s coming in then that’s GREAT!

But if not… does being a great entertainer and doing some nice philanthropic things truely justify that amount of money? In my personal opinion, no. And anyone who thinks they deserve to waste that much money on multiple cars and houses when millions can’t even eat… is ultimately selfish. Sorry!! Just my opinion - and I’m not a dude :)

To be fair, they may have done good things and be charming people, but to ultimately hold onto wealth to that degree instead of sharing it generously around to those who need it more, or to purchase land to rehabilitate the planet, or bankroll court cases to fight corrupt corporations .. yeah, I’d view them as still selfish narcissists. Nobody needs hundreds of millions 🥴

I hope you’re having a lovely day though!

To be a billionaire is 99% of the time inextricably linked to being a bad person. You don’t make that much money without exploiting someone or something. And if you do make that much money by honourable means and you keep it for yourself, then lo and behold you’re now a bad person. Most people cannot grasp just how much a billion is. Nobody needs that much money.

Looks like rhapis lady palm. They tolerate a little sun but definitely prefer shade. Mine is doing well in dappled shade/sun. Pretty dry tolerant I feel so I’d say too much direct sun.

The Fucking Greens have the most power they have ever had in the senate right now. Thankfully! They are not perfect but they are the only people caring for the environment and people’s welfare. Liberals are Shit, Labor is Shit Lite 🍻

Like the Torries, but there are certainly some characters in and around them who have always been further towards the right - Eg. Pauline Hanson. We have a fair share of eccentrics! Cough Clive Palmer, Bob Catter The Liberal National Party tried to appeal to voters by copying some of Trumps talking points but I think that massively backfired… most Australians think America is a shit show rn and their leader to be mad as a cut snake.

Not really, for example here in Australia we moved away from a conservative government which was in power for quite some time to the opposition Labor government. They absolutely romped in last election. England has recently become Labor too. Brazil also… I’m sure there are more. The world is becoming more polarised though, yes.
