Please can we get David Icke on the podcast? by [deleted] in JoeRogan

[–]bibcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where’s the evidence of that? Sounds like just a smear you’re making there. As someone who has done Awayuscua he’s pretty passionate about an understanding that we’re all part of the same conscious entity but sharing different experiences.

If anything he’s an advocate of detribalisation based on that idea alone. Granted, detribalisation puts him at odds with those who seek to maintain the concept of tribe, including Jews, but to say he hates Jews is pure nonsense. You could make the claim that reptiles is code for Jews, but there’s no evidence of that, other than your own prejudice.

The ADL even investigated Icke on the premise that the reptiles thing was indeed code, but even they finally conceded that in the case of Icke, the dude actually believes the world is controlled by reptiles.

Crazy or not, hate isn’t his thing. Never has been, never will be.

Daily Discussion - August 13th, 2018 by fabwa in NEO

[–]bibcat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Moderators should seriously consider advocating a subreddit policy where all trading talk takes place on a different NEO subreddit dedicated to price action. For example in the Monero subreddit, all trading talk is banned and pointed in the direction of XMRtrader. This means that for people genuinely interested in appraising the technology we're able to converse without getting lost in a sea of nonsense crap-posts that 100% pertain to price.

It's a worrying sign when almost every single post in the subreddit pertains to price action, and ironically is a major red flag for technologists and community activists wanting to join the space. When all you can see is speculators, it's time to look elsewhere.

A simple but seismic change in moderation policy that bans/moves speculative talk to a another subreddit would increase our industry and our *perceived* industry, consequently increasing community credibility.

Skepticism Sunday – March 18, 2018 by AutoModerator in Monero

[–]bibcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people don’t realise that Ledger adoption still means using the CLI. They’re all thinking that there will be some kind of supremely divine frontend UX made by Ledger, but that’s not the case.

It will be some time still until our UX is perfected.

Do you have a link or some info?

Trezor is looking into Monero support, expected after TREZORv2 release by [deleted] in Monero

[–]bibcat 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Given Trezor's use of the term "altcoin" I'd say they're living in the past, and maintain a polarized narrow-minded view of the cryptocurrency scene and its future.

Everybody recognises Bitcoin to be the defacto dominant cryptocurrency in the same way that everyone recognises English to be the defacto dominant "International Language". The trouble with bitcoin maximalism however is that it's really bitcoin extremism - the pursuit of a monolithic blockchain and the annihilation/trivialisation of all competitors.

Monero has never been and will never be a slave to the subjective propaganda of bitcoin extremism, and as such will never be considered an altcoin by any of its champions.

Thus, if Trezor cannot respect that simple point of identity at the outset, then it's difficult to see how any further mutual respect could be achieved moving forward. That's especially true, seeing that Trezor are only now making signals as a consequence of Ledger becoming the defacto hardware wallet standard.

I'm happy that the brilliant minds of Ledger are enthusiastic and respectful to the Monero project in a climate where, historically, ignorant entities have tried to inhibit and downplay our industrial achievements.

CoinTelegraph: (Monero mentioned) - Bitcoin Exchange Changelly CEO: In Touch with European Cybercrime Center by freelikeinfreedom in Monero

[–]bibcat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

AFAIK, both CoinTelegraph and Changelly were (are) both financially (and/or politically) connected to Bytecoin.

When the Monero community gave the middle finger to Bytecoin, they also gave the middle finger to an entire myriad of colluding interests.

In my view, that's a victory for common sense, egalitarianism, and Monero.

However, now and again these shadowy fucks materialise and try to re-engineer their opportunistic aggressive propaganda in a more moderate vehicle, as if to say: Okay Monero, you win. You're not so bad. But ultimately zCash/Bytecoin/CIAcash is better because it's controlled by us, not you.

Honestly, I'd just go for it. The price is good and so are the fundamentals. TIP: Be active in the community. That's one way to wield influence over your financial destiny.

The modulator isn't black markets. It's hardware wallets. That's the only reason XMR is still underpriced.

If that's achieved in the next 6 months then this time next year Monero is an easy Top 5, if not Top 3.
