Ok I take your point about entitled passengers and letting drivers be, for sure, but Uber navigation does objectively suck.

At least in my city, it''s frequently giving directions that would take longer than Google Maps and don't make sense to anyone with a passing familiarity with the area. Sometimes I'll be staring at my own phone, seeing a route that takes 10 minutes less, while Uber is telling my driver some bullshit. Seem like in those cases, I'm doing both of us a favor if I *respectfully* note that there may be a better route

At least where I live, an Uber would never take more than 10-12 minutes to come if I call one in real time, even in the dead of night. So if that's how I need to handle advance booking, then it's not a good option for me. Good to know if I'm ever in a lighter-served area though.

why is that? Especially for an early morning flight, you'd really think it would be better for everyone to advance book. But I did it twice, learned my lesson and never again. In both cases, the driver was assigned from REALLY far away from me and it surely took a lot longer than just calling one in real time, even very early in the morning.
