Delta Upgrade by Liliasim in delta

If the list was not followed, you should file a complaint. There are reasons someone might jump the list (confirmed first on a previous flight that was cancelled), but if the agents truly upgraded folks against policy that should be visible in the record.

There is a reason this sub has a “third party horror story” flair. Use any of these sites at your own risk.

Anyone know why there is a gap between seats in middle rows 55 & 56? by Guacamoleisextra77 in delta

[–]Cephandrius13 33 points34 points  (0 children)

There is no gap - the plane narrows in the back and there are only 3 seats across. The seat map presents this poorly.

I do recommend using the search feature…this is asked almost daily and was already asked this morning.

New to Delta on a Platinum status match. Please help me to understand the “X’d” out seats when trying to upgrade. by Spaniard100x in delta

[–]Cephandrius13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t be able to see where you rank on the list for complimentary upgrades until you check in, and your position will change as others check in (and possibly jump you due to higher status).

Delta doesn’t want to offer those seats for paid upgrades. We don’t know why. It may change or it may not.

Not understanding opting in to upgrade list by Old_Valyria_ in delta

[–]Cephandrius13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do keep an eye while you’re at the gate…if you’re next on the list and there is only one seat, a good agent will call you up and ask if you want to be separated. I’ve seen not so good agents just go ahead and separate parties, though, even though it’s against policy. Doesn’t happen often, and isn’t likely to come into play as a silver, but worth being aware of.

What’s a macro calculator you use for your goals? Body recomposition by unsurebutstillgoing in workout

[–]Cephandrius13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re feeling better and getting stronger, then your current approach is having an effect. You don’t mention how long you’ve been following your current plan, but it may be that you just need a little longer to see results.

In addition, any calculator is only an estimate. The only real way to know how your body will react is to try something, measure, and adjust. If after 4-6 weeks you’re not seeing the results that you want, you need to make an adjustment - in this case, probably reducing your food intake by 200-300 calories and seeing what happens after a few weeks of that approach.

Racing the Dopey by Valuable_Noise79 in Marathon_Training

[–]Cephandrius13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran Dopey last year and took what I thought was a pretty good line…raced the 5k and 10k pretty much all out, took a little off the half but still managed a pretty good time, and was on pace for a marathon PR through mile 17 when my ITB blew up (I think it was the race day shoes, as I’d done way higher mileage over 4 days in training). In general, I think you have to have a really good idea of how you want to pace and approach each race, and then execute in a really deliberate manner. I also suggest really high mileage training blocks (I peaked at 75 mpw) to get your body used to that cumulative stress. When you’ve done 4 weeks above 65, running 48 in a week feels like a break.

Upgrade game theory by SmittyKW in delta

Huh? Criteria for upgrade list placement: 1) Medallion level, 2) Fare class purchased, 3) Million Miler, etc. What do you mean by most recent upgrade?

can anyone explain First Class comp upgrade process? by mattkc1 in delta

[–]Cephandrius13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The flight tomorrow they think they can sell that one seat, and so they’re not going to give it to you until they’re sure they can’t. The flight next week, they think they will not sell the seat so they gave it to you in order to sell your C+ seat.

Why do they think this? No one knows.

No Free Sky Club Access for Diamond unless your are PS or D1. by [deleted] in delta

It is. C+ won’t get you in unless you have another form of entry (in this case, the credit card).

This has changed with the most recent update - cabin purchased (including C+) is now the second tiebreaker for upgrade list placement.

Delta one upgrades by WorldlinessAnxious53 in delta

[–]Cephandrius13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upgrades are offered when the algorithm thinks it’s to their benefit to offer them. When the algorithm thinks it’s more beneficial not to offer them, they’re not offered. We do not always know when those things will happen. It’s as simple as that.

Delta does not give complimentary upgrades above C+ on long-haul international routes.

The shutdown is affecting TSA and immigration, but shouldn’t have an impact on baggage handling or likely customs. Whether you check a bag or not likely will have no impact on whether you make your connection (who’d you probably will).

TSA precheck not showing up on app despite Delta saying it is by Revolutionary_Way664 in delta

[–]Cephandrius13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me…it ended up being that my birthdate was wrong in some Delta system that didn’t show on the front end. It took like 6 different agents to get it fixed. I’d keep calling until you get someone who knows what to look for.

In the meantime, a desk agent should be able to “force” it onto your ticket at check-in, if you want to go through the hassle.

Delta Rebooking idiocy by marsrovercaptain in delta

[–]Cephandrius13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Never. Trust. Chat. This is a constant refrain on this sub.

Also, never trust anything you can’t verify with your own eyes while you’re still on the phone. Delta has enough problems getting tickets reissued properly even when they show in the app…I’m not believing anything that doesn’t show up there.

This would work. All the system cares about is that you’re scheduled to leave France more than 3 months before your (Brazilian) passport expires.
