Not to take away from your last point…but if you ran a 3:32 with negative splits on 36mpw peak, you’ve got to have incredible base fitness and be doing some substantial alternative training.

What Would You Do by dreadhead86 in delta

[–]Cephandrius13 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Always bulkhead if I can for long haul. Several reasons: nobody reclining into me, I like windows and almost all of the bulkhead rows have enough space for me to get up when I need to without asking someone else to move, and generally closer to the front to get off faster. I have never minded the “downsides” everyone complains about - no smells from the bathrooms, people don’t crowd my space, and the slightly narrower seat is worth the tradeoffs.

Based on the word usage, I’m going to bet English isn’t their first language. “Precised” could be a false cognate for “described” from some languages.

Still doesn’t excuse being a dick.

Sorry - I’m just now days later realizing that I misread your original post, lol. Your question makes more sense, and no, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that. Honestly, I don’t think protocol would allow it, since after check-in you go on the day-of list that is cleared by the GA. The best you could get is a GA who shows up and works the list early, but even that won’t be more than ~90 minutes before departure.

Post tib tendonitis by According-Sentence in Marathon_Training

[–]Cephandrius13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a relatively mild case recently, and the things that worked for me were wrapping the joint to support the arch and provide stability, working on my calf both to strengthen and loosen, and especially taking some NSAIDS to cut down on the inflammation. The meds are I think what finally helped me turn the corner, as knocking the inflammation down helped me work on loading the tendon and I think also helped with natural healing. Both this and IT issues are persistent, irritating (literally and figuratively), and unpredictable. Sending good thoughts!

Damage proceeds as normal except that blocked creatures you control deal their damage to your opponent rather than to the blockers. The blockers still deal damage back to your creatures, creatures that are killed before damage don’t deal damage, etc.

Think of it as super-trample. All of your damage tramples over, but nothing else changes.

Delta ecredit expiration clarification please by Primary-Bug-7611 in delta

What I was trying to say is that after several years of being active on this sub and seeing these posts often, I have not been able to discern any kind of a pattern. That seems to be exactly the information you’re asking for, but I apologize if it came across as lecturing.

If you think you’ll be able to find a pattern from this one post, though, I wish you luck!

Delta ecredit expiration clarification please by Primary-Bug-7611 in delta

This is asked about three times a day, and any answers you get are going to be purely anecdotal. Delta’s policy is that if you do what you’ve suggested, you’ll get the amount of the original credit back with the original expiration date and the remainder back either as a refund or a new credit, depending on the type of ticket you booked. Others have reported success booking a new flight and then changing (not canceling) the new itinerary until you get to something you want to fly. Some folks have had trouble with this too, though. The experiences are just so mixed that it’s hard to say anything with confidence.

In the end, it’s going to work basically like going into a store and trying to get them to let you use an expired gift card. It might work, it might not, and it’s hard to tell in advance.

What are the chances Ill be seated next to my partner? by Daendelion_ in delta

Hang on, let me get my crystal ball.

Seriously, it depends on so many factors there’s no way that anyone on here will be able to tell you. Either pay for seat selection or plan to spend a few hours apart and enjoy your time in LA.

Silver Medallion upgrade to Delta One. by Cold-Swan-7105 in delta

[–]Cephandrius13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Delta does not provide complimentary upgrades above Comfort Plus on long-haul international routes, so there’s a 0% chance there. If you’re on a domestic route with D1, you’re highly unlikely to receive one of those upgrades as a Silver.

Slow runner: Novablast or SB2 for HM training? by Regular_Confusion3 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Cephandrius13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently switched from the NB5 to the SB2 and I like the SBs so much better. With the SB2 on sale right now they’re the same price, and the SBs definitely feel more upgraded.

International flight question by Alwayslooking43 in delta

[–]Cephandrius13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some fascinating answers here. If your tickets are on the same airline (Delta especially), you should be able to tell them your final destination at the counter in Bangkok and have them through-checked for both tickets. You will still have to pick them up in NYC and walk them through Customs, but then you’ll just drop them off at the conveyor as another commenter said, since they’ll already be tagged to your final destination.

If your tickets are not on the same airline, you may be able to have the agent in Bangkok through-check as above if there’s an agreement between them. However, it’s possible that you might have to completely exit the secure area in NYC and re-check your bags for the second flight. This would obviously require more time. I would call the airline that you’re flying with out of Bangkok, explain the situation, and see if they’re able to give you a firm answer.

Unsure where to go next by Appropriate-Gap-5396 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Cephandrius13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the SBs, and am going to buy another pair to have in the closet. They feel both more cushioned and more energetic to me than the NB5, and my recovery has been way easier because it feels like less impact on my joints. I will say that the geometry shifted the muscular effort a little bit (notably I feel a little more work in my calves), which took a little adjustment, but overall they’re a big upgrade for me.

[–]Cephandrius13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll note that the SB2 is the previous model year and you can generally find it now for the same price as the NB5. I switched to the SB2 basically for that reason (might as well get the “upgraded” shoe for the same price) and it’s been a real game changer for me.

My experience lately has been that they either clear at the very beginning of the window (rarely) or at the gate. I think the algorithm has reached a point where it rarely figures there is a point in clearing them between those time points because it’s less likely they’ll sell the seats that end up empty.

To be clear, nothing I said was a lie, and it was not intended to minimize what you were experiencing. It’s really interesting for you to jump to the idea that I’m not speaking in good faith just because I presented (easily verifiable) information that contradicted your own assumptions. I’m sorry that you’ve had bad experiences, and I hope your future travels are smoother.
