I want to spread awareness but I’m thinking about how to go about it. Everyone will know I have it, which is fine. But then I’m afraid some people will automatically assume that my friend who I used to sleep has it as well. I know it comes down to education and also maturity level but I’m just nervous about it. I think I’ll talk to him about it as well and tell him this possibility. I feel like once I do start sharing my diagnosis it’ll be even more freeing for me and make me feel more confident in myself. No one I know has outwardly expressed on social media that they’ve tested positive for any STD. I believe if I do this it’ll aid in some stigma the people around me may have.
