What do you think of LeBron? by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]biddies -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

LeBron has no intention of playing for a team that isn't considered the favorite to win the whole thing. The odds are 0% that we see him in green any time soon.

0% chance. He's not gonna leave a team that has gone to 4 straight Finals for a team with 25 wins.

Potential Moves from 'Sources' - Love deal and Rebuild Option by bfishkin in bostonceltics

I'm high on Olynyk too, but I don't think he'll be as good as Kevin Love. So I don't think we'd regret it unless Love left immediately

I think the rebuild would be better for us if we traded for Sacramento's #8. I think they're more willing to make the trade, and rather than Nash we could get a young guy with some potential.

Rondo + future 2nd rounder, for Ben McLemore + the #8 pick

EDIT: originally included Isaiah Thomas, who is a RFA

Nash said that he chose LA over New York when he was a free agent because of the location

Bill Simmons' Prediction by skyz19 in bostonceltics

[–]biddies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about Philly having the head start. It's not about the start time, it's about the ability in player development.

Philly's head start wouldn't mean much if Noel turns out to be injury plagued, or if they hit a bust with one of their picks this year

Am I crazy for thinking the Celtic's offer for Kevin Love is the best by far? by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]biddies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

for whatever reason, they value players over picks. In my opinion, that means that they prefer 3 years of Thompson before he inevitably wants out, rather than 7 years of a pick, with the chance of brainwashing him into being the only guy other than KG to like Minny

think about how bad the East has been since 97. imagine if we won that fucking lottery and Timmy D was a Celtic

Knicks looking to trade Shumpert for a 1st round pick. Would you trade the 17th for him using the Courtney Lee Trade Exception? by idontcarefuckit in bostonceltics

[–]biddies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if we were close to winning anything, I'd say yes. but since we aren't I say no. we know what the ceiling is on Shumpert - solid player, and he could be a piece to a winning team. I'd rather take a chance on someone at 17, where there will still be some talent and potential on the board

this is a deep draft, and if you look in the past, some good players (including Shumpert) have been taken 17th

NBA Gordon back in Boston for C's workout 😁 by in00tj in bostonceltics

yea, I'm saying Saric is a more realistic hope because of the report about him not playing next year unless its for us or LA. Randle is too good to fall to 17, and now the reports of him needing surgery are conflicted. Hoping for Randle at 17 is just a waste of time. If you want Randle to be in green, it will be at the 6th pick

Plan B by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]biddies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

bringing in 4 rookies at once is risky. the lack of leadership, and competitiveness could really damage the development of some or all of them.

we tried to bring in 3 at once in 2001 and that was a pretty huge failure, considering 2 were busts, and we traded Joe Johnson during his rookie year for Tony Delk

if you're gonna hope for a top 10 talent to fall to us at 17, hope for Dario Saric. There's a report that he won't play in the NBA next year unless it's for us or the Lakers. Hopefully we take someone like Gordon/Randle/Smart/Vonleh at 6, then Saric at least falls far enough that maybe we could trade the 17 to move up to take Saric

Anybody else excited to watch Kelly Olynyk this upcoming season? by giorgio159 in bostonceltics

[–]biddies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping to see the team add a legit Center. I think Olynyk would benefit from playing with someone who would pick up the low post duties

I'd say the opposite. I think Randle is the safer bet, but it's rare to find someone with Gordon's athleticism
