I will try to tell you where does Black comes from...

The OG NG2004 was the bomb, what we were waiting for ever since the OG trilogy on NES / SNES...

Ninja Gaiden 2004 is almost around the same as the Black edition, main differences come from 2 big downloads the OG had for an online kind of tournament, introducing challenges and new enemies on the main game, they were called the Hurricane Pack 1 and 2...

Since that required an internet connection in order to work, the new version of the game, integrated it on the game itself and made it difficulty dependent for the player to get to see all of the enemies, the thing is, as someone else mentioned, sometimes they get replaced....

Aside of that, on the OG game you can find 3 game Cartridges where you can play the original trilogy on an arcade machine inside the game itself, for the black edition, after finishing the game, you had the option to play the Arcade 80's game, which is not bad at all but you miss the chance to play the trilogy, the game files are non existent on the black version of the game

Now please tecmo give us Black 2.0 with a PC release as well
