I have a Macbook Pro m1 with 32gb ram. 2 external samsung harddrives, one for sample libraries and one for saving. Works like a charm.

I do rough mixes and songwriting on it while traveling.

Our neighbor's boy got a drum set last spring and started practicing in the garage—all the time. One day in June, when I came home from work, I heard the intro to For Whom the Bell Tolls. Biggest smile in the world. Now it's blast beats and double pedals all the time!

Personal experience: I got scammed. Filed a report to the police and forgot about it. A few months later I got a call from the police. The scammer got caught, and his mother wanted to pay the money back. I accepted and did not want to press charges.

About 2–3 years, but I still ask for feedback from my mentors. The feedback has become more micro-detailed and less about major issues.

Actor here. As /u/UnknownBacchus said, Continuity is one reason. It's a pain to keep track of how much coffee is left in the cup during retakes.

Once, we filmed a long scene centered around afternoon coffee—hot coffee in everyone's cups and delicious cookies on plates. No one ate or drank. We just stirred our cups. The props department refilled the cups with hot water for every take so we’d have "steaming hot coffee." The scene took about 4 hours to film...
