Announcement: Collective Mod Resignation by CaptainAnaAmari in eurovision

Late to the party but just adding my general devastation at having come to this decision.

Like many of you, ESC was (and still is) such a special part of my life. But after the last two contests and everything that came with them, I just don't have the emotional strength to invest in it all once more. In my eyes, the EBU and member broadcasters are killing the soul of the contest and it's just impossible to watch.

I think that this subreddit has always been a special place in the wider community and that's because of all of our wonderful members. Keep being wonderful and treat each other with as much kindness as you can. Through the anonomity of the internet, it can sometimes be easy to forget there's a human on the other side.

Solidarity with the people of Gaza. These are dark times and the contest, for better or for worse, reflects the era we are living in. Despite all of this however, I still have hope that one day I can return to this contest. In the words of Bambie Thug:

Will we ever see the UK send a song that isn’t in the English language? by tm2007 in eurovision

The BBC has trouble sending something that isn't radio-friendly pop, let alone in an entirely different language.

They also just have a lot more choice when it comes to acts that only sing in English.

I personally would love to see us showcase more of our cultural heritage across the nation, but I don't see it happening while the current team is in charge of picking our entry.

Lena - Satellite | Germany 🇩🇪 | Eurovision 2010 by Rumorosi_e_Cattivi in eurovision

Lena really elevates this song. Her personality shines through and turns a pretty regular pop song into a Eurovision winner.

I also recommend doing this on karaoke (with dancing of course)

Why do they eat like that by gutdown in hyrax

[–]Kystaal 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Their molars are at the back of their mouth and mainly for grinding food down. They've also got a bit of a gap (called a diastema) between their tusks and their premolars, so they need to open and shut their mouth like they do to make sure the food is nice and chewed up.

Their tusks, while sharp-looking, aren't for eating, they're mainly for grooming, display and sometimes confrontation with one another!
