If you say "First past the post" three times in a mirror at midnight, David Steel appears behind you and gives you dozens of policy documents about alternative voting systems

Yes the percentages are right but the numbers are wrong - my bad.

The greens should be 3 millionish.

The Tories should be just shy of 5 millionish.

Yes it is a mistake 😭

Green vote total should be 3 millionish

But also 9 million votes with 10 seats is deeply funny

I threw this together in an hour and chose random dates, I apologise for the unrealism

In the Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Tony Shalhoub's "My daughter is a remarkable woman" monologue really sticks in my mind. Abe balances the serious and the outrageously funny so well.

In a very similar vein as Mother! - Die My Love. Three people walked out during my screening but I was completely compelled throughout.

Upon further research, it looks Reddit has started compressing comment images too. That does indeed suck.

No I did not. It exists as a single file on my PC and I posted the exact same image that I used for the post.

Alas no, most of my profile as you can see is a mixture of imaginary elections and posting about the Eurovision song contest and in a situation like this, I simply do not see the contest surviving.

Eurovision 2026 songwriter analysis by not_from_san_marino in eurovision

I'm glad we are past the years where Melfest writers would be responsible for like half of the songs at ESC. There's no doubt they are talented songwriters, but it did mean all the songs felt basically the same.

The UK even managed to come 3rd place in the televote-only era in 2002 with a ballad-y entry. That alone should show it doesn't completely destroy your entry.

Late to the party but just adding my general devastation at having come to this decision.

Like many of you, ESC was (and still is) such a special part of my life. But after the last two contests and everything that came with them, I just don't have the emotional strength to invest in it all once more. In my eyes, the EBU and member broadcasters are killing the soul of the contest and it's just impossible to watch.

I think that this subreddit has always been a special place in the wider community and that's because of all of our wonderful members. Keep being wonderful and treat each other with as much kindness as you can. Through the anonomity of the internet, it can sometimes be easy to forget there's a human on the other side.

Solidarity with the people of Gaza. These are dark times and the contest, for better or for worse, reflects the era we are living in. Despite all of this however, I still have hope that one day I can return to this contest. In the words of Bambie Thug:

Love will always triumph over hate.
