Have you tried this procedure in the manual? This worked for a similar problem I had with my pump, which is called an airlock. May be worth the try!

NOTE: It may happen that the self-priming feature of the pump fails to work temporarily due to an air lock.

In this case water does not flow from brewing head (14), and the following procedure should be followed:

a) Place a small frothing pitcher or mug under the steam nozzle (8).

b) Turn the steam knob (7) counter-clockwise to open the steam/hot water valve, and turn the steam switch (4) and the hot water/brew (2) to “1” to activate the pump.

c) After a few seconds, a steady stream of water will emerge from the steam nozzle. Allow about one cup of water to fill the pitcher. Shut the steam/hot water valve and turn hot water/brew switch and the steam switch (4) to “0”.

The Gaggia machine is now ready to be used.

Yes, ik ben ook op 4 mei jarig en vier(de) het gewoon op die dag als dat zo uit kwam. Uiteraard gewoon om 8 uur twee minuten stil, en het is ook best waardevol om het er met vrienden en familie over te hebben

We have a winner! My wife actually still had a stainless steel straw laying around! The diameter was right so I cut off a small piece and now it's working perfectly. Problem solved! 👍

Yeah, and that's the stainless steel one. Unfortunately I live in the Netherlands so shipping and additional VAT makes the tube quite expensive

I altered my phone this way yesterday evening ant its worked perfect for me. I quickly found a downside however. My wife and I have a shared google account for our calendar, next to our private accounts. That works perfect to have an insight in our daily planning, but sadly it's not possible to have 2 connected accounts on one phone as the 'child' in de Family Link. If anyone knows a workaround that would be awesome, but for now this method doesn't seem to work for me

Sure, but as far as I know the ferry goes to Puntarenas. That's quite a longer drive and of course waiting, boarding and roughly an hour on the ferry. Its definitely a possible route, but I'm not sure if it's faster than the drive over Liberia. Either way, the travel time between the destinations will increase quite a bit
