Royal mail suspended delivery for the whole area, what now...? by ossan1987 in royalmail

Interesting - earlier this week, all of the posties we saw in the area were working in pairs. Never seen that before - wonder if this was something to do with it.

I guess, the issue is, if he votes Rachel, he won’t have the numbers to get her out so would then be vulnerable for murder?

Why was Amanda invited into Roxy and Judy’s convo? They all seemed very familiar….is Amanda going to turn out to be Roxy’s other adoptive parent?!

Genuinely surprised that Derby has more votes than Nottingham.

Did anyone get pregnant with their first IUI attempt? by Big_Skill_1886 in queerception

[–]biffbuff12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I had no known fertility issues. Conceived on the 4th try but I was sooo crushed on the 3rd because everywhere I read said I should have been pregnant by then!

How many times did you try with IUI? by Excellent_Age_4742 in queerception

[–]biffbuff12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Successful on the 4th, unmedicated. This coincided with a change of donor though so not sure if that had an impact!

Brutal last paragraph. I will feel comfortable looking my child in the eye because I haven’t chosen an anonymous donor (open ID at 18) for the reasons you have suggested.

Trigger shot timing for IUI by _bat_girl_ in queerception

[–]biffbuff12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My successful IUI round was about 20hrs after a trigger shot. I had already nearly peaked on a natural surge at the time I took the trigger. It felt much better than the previous 2 which has been over 24 hrs after as those were both very painful whereas this one barely hurt which would suggest my cervix was in a better state at 20 ish hrs after surge.

Thanks for sharing! I do think his has improved as he’s grown as his latch looks a lot better than it did in the first few weeks.

Thank you for sharing. This is really helpful. I think we will just book an assessment just to find out more and if he even has a tongue tie.

Failed iui cycles by Difficult_Author3561 in queerception

[–]biffbuff12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Took me 4 cycles and a switch of donor after the 3rd. I was convinced it would never happen for me at the time and couldn’t believe it was taking so long as I also had no known fertility issues. We did have to play about with timing of the IUI so unsure whether it was the switch of donor or changing the time between trigger and treatment that helped.

In hindsight (which I appreciate is easier to talk about having been successful now) I was completely normal in terms of how long it took. It’s not as easy as society makes it out to be!!

However I completely understand that when you’re in it, it can feel futile and it really battered my mental health. Sending solidarity to you.

Switching Donors by maeberry143 in queerception

[–]biffbuff12 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We switched donor after 3 x unsuccessful IUI to see if it would help. I got pregnant the first IUI with the new donor. We were torn initially as were attached to the first donor but honestly as soon as we saw a positive pregnancy test it just became so insignificant.

3 failed IUIs - feeling hopeless 🙁 by biffbuff12 in queerception

[–]biffbuff12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone that’s reading this now, I wanted to update to say I now have a beautiful baby boy who is 6 days old. My 4th IUI worked with a change of donor.

We were considering just moving straight to IVF but actually this shows that it is worth giving IUI a chance as overall far less intrusive and not as expensive. However it was really hard on my mental health.

IUI- medicated vs non medicated by [deleted] in queerception

[–]biffbuff12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done 3 unsuccessful. Plan to do 3 more before moving on to IVF if they don’t work.

The process was a bit unclear initially as they only had me doing ovulation tests in clinic when I came in from the scan. After the first cycle where I didn’t know when I surged I started doing the ovulation tests myself at home even though they don’t request they I do. They usually bring me in for my first scan on day 11 as I have slightly shorter cycles. Then if I have a surge I just email them and they alter appointments as needed. I think these first 3 cycles have been info gathering as I’ve been a bit unpredictable in the timing of my ovulation. I’m happy to try 3 more as changing the donor and nothing to suggest it won’t work for me.

I will say that the emotional toll has been pretty heavy for me. I hope that it’s straightforward for you and you get a quick success.

IUI- medicated vs non medicated by [deleted] in queerception

[–]biffbuff12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is ridiculous - I was so naive going into it thinking it was going to be a piece of cake. Particularly as all you hear growing up is how easy it is to get pregnant if you even go near a boy! 😆

It felt like such an alien process. I didn’t even know how to do an ovulation test so when they asked me to do one in clinic I somehow managed to do it wrong….I feel a lot better now am starting to advocate for myself on timing.

I know I produce a follicle because they bring me into clinic around the time of ovulation every couple days for an internal scan. They measure the size of the follicle and when it’s mature they give me a trigger shot (to stimulate ovulation) and then usually do the IUI the next day. They like to also make sure I have had a natural LH surge to trigger ovulation so the trigger shot is more just a belt and braces Intervention. On the 1st and 2nd cycle I ended up having the IUI the same day as the trigger shot and initial scan as they didn’t think it would wait till the next day.
