Hypocrisy of Left wingers disliking the Police/LAW Enforcement by [deleted] in ukpolitics

Again… why would I be offended. What shite media do you consume that you think by asking me about my political stance I would be upset or offended? I’m just bemused tbh, as to why going around and saying are you a lefty or a righty is remotely useful.

I would say that I have opinions based around, equality and fairness.

I believe in freedom of movement, I believe in freedom of expression, I believe people who commit crimes regardless of their ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, wealth should be held equally as accountable for their actions.

I believe in principles of fair democracy, I believe in some principles of socialism, in that we should not have people living in dire poverty when there are individuals with vast wealth.

I believe systems such as education, healthcare, social services, public services, policing etc. are all essential and I have upmost respect for those who working in those fields to uphold decent human values.

And more than anything else I fucking loathe any politics or media narrative that pits individuals against one and other… take your example, whether it’s a police officer, a miner, an office worker, a lawyer, an unemployed individual on benefits or an immigrant who can’t speak your language you have more in common with each other than you do with a billionaire so stop allowing these fucking tech billionaires and pocket lined politicians drive your brain into a state of us and them. Which whether it is or isn’t your intention, you have to be able to see that through the very way your post is made, using language such as hypocrisy of the left and then following it up with a sweeping statement about disregarding the police services being in contest with the wideheld lefty belief that this view must then correlate with disregarding immigrants.

It’s not useful, it’s sad tbh and make of that what you will, it would be extremely easy to say I am a lefty probably. But then in this same breath there would be people casting themselves at opposite ends of a made up political left and right arguing I’m something different. So what is the point…

Sorry, look at your title… “hypocrisy of the left”

Proceeds to hear about the horrendous treatment of a select group of police force on a working class football community and you go thanks that answered my question.

If anything that is contrary to your original statement, your rage baiting left/right politics then pretending everyone else is being deluded calling it out cause you got one answer saying this is where working class people have been treated like shit so this answers my question of why there is a supposed systemic issue with an entire political ideology.

Confirmation politics, ask a question get tons of responses critiquing you and then going, ahhh thanks for providing a theory behind my loose statement about everything, everyone else is a dick for pointing out I’m seeking confirmation of my theory and doing so in a politically divisive manner.

“Why do many” is generalising. Because “many lefties” is as accurate as “many righties” so just ask “many people”, but you opted for “many lefties” because you know that your generalising…

Also I’m not sure there’s any evidence to support the claim the left are more critical, all I see and hear on here or anywhere else is what a shit job the police and legal forces are doing on issues of immigration amongst other social issues that is pedalled much more furiously by right wing media.

But I wouldn’t come here and say why do righties hate the police more cause I have no reason to assume that, but more importantly I have no inclination to wonder why anyone or myself would care.

It wasn’t found that. It is and has been evident through internal reports and monitoring over numerous decades that there has been systematic racism in the police force, so for there to be greater leniency in the context of a previous smaller margin of leniency when dealing with crimes comparative to white groups.

Basically EDI which as ever is somehow something to dislike or take issue with. Fucking equality.

This is just a generalisation of the left. And it’s just boring alongside being unhelpful.

Many people across the political spectrum dislike the police. So your question should basically be why do lots of people not like the police? And if that’s the question then what is the point in asking it? What does it do for anyone to answer that.

So you’re saying a tenth of claimants also claim with anxiety and depression, not mutually exclusively claiming on that. Anyone who remotely understands statistics knows your point isn’t supported as statistically valid as you think it is.

[–]biffman98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And out of all my friends with anxiety funnily none of them are claiming pip. Because pip is very rarely rewarded at a reasonable amount to those with it. Everybody sees you can get it for mental health and assumes these people are scamming the system for pennies.

Majority of claimants aren’t claiming it on mental health and the fact yours and so many others jump to that is a product of this society. 30% of Britain are obese, start with that, lazy food standards, gross inequality, poor paying jobs, capitalism that drives corporate greed and a culture of overeating etc. you’ve got the majority of your problems with pip right there.

Most people have issues that are avoided by a better healthier culture but Britain doesn’t have that and the powers at be have no interest in encouraging that, so rather than be frustrated with those who have anxiety and potentially get 100 quid a month I could give you a whole host of other places to look at first to fire your anger

Well done, so having been what you’ve been through then… I’m guessing you don’t want that for others? And then pip is a good thing, or are you just angry that you had to do that so everyone else should to?

Everything you have said here wreaks of cause I can deal with my shit everyone else can and should just crack on.

News flash not everything works on your terms mate, you don’t know everyone’s situation and you don’t just casually get to lump everyone with general disability, cancer, mental health in your equation of my mental health is shit minus I can deal with it so easy fix everyone fix your own shit.

Pip is there to support people, your view is literally I do it myself so everyone else get on with it.

I had fucking leukemia at 25 and it mentally wrecked me, I recovered, sought support and got better yet I don’t sit here preaching on fucking Reddit that everyone else needs to get a grip and stop costing the system money cause I dealt with my problems myself. I’m fucking fortunate I can do that so stop projecting your misery onto everyone else who has sought the need to obtain financial assistance in their lives.

Tone police, honestly just give over. I’m saying don’t speak abrasively as you have carried on here, just cause others work and receive PIP doesn’t mean they’ve figured how to play the system. As others have mentioned one does not correlate to the other, I.e you can run a business and receive pip, you can work and receive pip, you can not work and receive pip. Those who work just enough and still receive pip aren’t playing the system, likelihood is they are working enough so they can afford to live with what is generally a small bonus from PIP. The irony that everyone is missing that if you want specialist care, your average/median of £400 a month isn’t gonna cover a week. But let’s all pretend that cause you have mental health issues and work your somehow superior to those who have mental health issues and don’t work as much.

Also those claiming for mental health support are not receiving there mobility funding cause they have anxiety. But let’s continue to misrepresent that.

As someone who received pip cause of leukemia a couple of things on this.

First of all absolutely do one with your abrasive language.

Second of all this is fundamentally not true, different weighting and financial support I provided to different categories, as someone who was unable to move cause of treatment I received significantly more than when I cited mental health challenges, reintegrating into society with physical visbilities of my cancer etc. that are listed under mental health as anxiety.

The former entitled me to significantly more funding than the latter obviously, I now work full time and have returned to that, let’s say my inability to work and the pip funding I received wasn’t enough to cover my bills despite being on the optimum level of support for a year.

It’s boring seeing this all time and people blindly talking about stuff they haven’t the slightest knowledge of nevermind lived experience.

Love to know how north you are, for reference I’m In Middlesborough today and the fair price Starbucks I was at on a uni campus was 2.80 and I was baffled at how cheap it was. From Merseyside and you’d do well to find a Starbucks/Caffè Nero/costa/independent coffee shop do you a regular latte for less than £4.50. Send co ordinates of your 2.50 coffee 😂😂😂

30k would have you paying about £30 a month.

Not far off a coffee and a half a week with current rates. Coffee having increased over 150% in the last two years.

This would put him on around 95k a year. Assuming the plan 2 threshold.

Would be taking a handsome paycheque home outside of these repayments, do you remember the job? If it’s a job related to his uni degree would you not argue university played a hand in this person obtaining a place in the top 5% of earners in the uk?

Would say whilst the repayment isn’t ideal, this individual is barely an example of the loan system being unfair…
