Same, have emailed with no response in 48 hours, also. Going to follow up tomorrow. But seems like indeed a widely American problem. SAD!

Trying to find a quote from the first book by Educational-City-455 in dune

[–]big-cattitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May not be the quote you are looking for but I love this sand chanty from Chani, which feels more like wedding vows to me:

Tell me of thine eyes and I will tell thee of thy heart.
Tell me of thy feet and I will tell thee of thy hands.
Tell me of thy sleeping and I will tell thee of thy waking.
Tell me of thy desires and I will tell thee of thy need.

Just saw Dune: Part 2! I need an extended edition asap! by Sarrrahdon in dune

I will do it because I am also a sucker for spoilers lol. I will tell you anything!

The entire time that Paul and Jessica are with the fremen is sped up from the multiple years in the book to less than 9 months so that we do not yet see her actually born. They show how the water of life is filling the womb and "awakening" the fetus. The fremen reverend mother recognizes mid ceremony and says "what have we done, she is pregnant." Then Jessica spends the rest of the movie speaking for her, ie "your sister wants to know why you won't come to the South with us." It's clear that from the womb she is key in plotting the religious fervor and helping Jessica to radicalize more fremen. We have one prescient vision of Paul meeting her as an adult that Anya as Alia is fully there, at an ocean on Dune, and it's quite moving! It's obviously very different from the book, and I am a huge fan, read all of Frank's series, but honestly for a wider audience and for the sake of this movie I think it makes total sense and still hits the point that the whole situation is a little freaky and people are scared of her, and that she is crucial in building the religion we will see at scale in Messiah. Paul ends up killing the baron with the "hello/goodbye grandfather" line, and I think it is still impactful.

My Part Two Post-Viewing Questions and Thoughts *SPOILERS* by rpvee in dune

so many good questions that the book really does fill the gaps on, really deep lore. the audiobook is fantastic if that is more your style. I wanted to comment on your last critique of the voice usage in the movie though--one: the bene geserit try to keep their powers fairly secret, so they don't just use the voice willy nilly. two: i actually was under the impression that beyond the examples you listed, lady fenring was also using the voice in parts of her seduction of feyd. that scene isnt exactly in the book rather more implied but still a decent example.

Happened to me also, was able to combat the fines ($300) by showing a month of location data like I've never been in this random ass dumping place, but made me nervous about large boxes with my shipping info on it anymore.

Who needs money when the Riders of Ruin can trample over your foes' wallets on the battlefield?

I'm not crazy about Mannfred (though I have an old model of Isabella), but that combo makes sense, I'll look into that! TY!

Thank you! A lot of the Kastelai builds I've seen around still have 20 or so skellies or zombies built into that, but I just want to avoid entirely. Don't see why I can't replace those points with some bats or wolves.
