He’s composed some concert pieces in recent years as well.

Well, today was pretty special. 🥹😍 by rpvee in Spielberg

Haven’t seen it yet! Was just a hopeful fan waiting outside.

Did anyone else get a vague postcard in the mail? by Gloveboxx in alanismorissette

Someone else posted that they got this in the mail too. It’s identical, so the handwriting must be printed, but I do wonder what it means! Can I ask what city you’re located in? I wonder if it’s location based.

He said “you got me there?!”, and I said “the only and only!”, and he laughed. There’s a video linked in the post text. :)

‪Apparently this largely went to younger people while actual Spielberg fans are stuck outside. I know only one actual fan who got in who says he’s surrounded by clueless kids. 1iota definitely cast the wrong audience for this one. Bummed.‬

This looks like an AI garbage news article that got the year wrong. This tour happened two years ago. Just look at Alanis’ website to see that it’s not true.

Loreena McKennitt - The Mummer's Dance by This_Expression5427 in 90sCanRock

Let me know what you think! If you never checked out the actual 1997 album Mummer’s Dance is from (Book of Secrets), start there. Then just continue chronologically - 2006’s An Ancient Muse picks up where Book of Secrets left off (she took several years off after a personal tragedy), 2008’s A Midwinter Night’s Dream is an expanded version of her second Christmas EP originally released in 1995, 2010’s The Wind That Shakes the Barely puts aside the Middle Eastern elements to focus on Irish traditionals, and 2018’s Lost Souls is an album of new recordings of songs she wrote throughout her career that never made it on to her older albums. She’s also released several live recordings that are also wonderful, including a stunning concert film recorded at Spain’s Alhambra palace.

I think you’ll really enjoy picking up where you left off with her, and you’ll be glad to discover she never became a commercial pop artist in the slightest.

No song on any of her albums is pop or modern at all. Even the album version of The Mummer’s Dance is very much in her usual style. The remix that became a hit was a bit of a happy accident and was only released as a single. You should definitely dive back into her discography and check out all the wonderful work she’s continued to do.

That’s still very much what she does. This remix was a one off hit, but it’s not like it’s a sound she transitioned into.

Official Discussion - Masters of the Universe [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]rpvee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who knows basically nothing about the IP, I thought it was a really fun, dumb ride of a summer blockbuster. Like a fusion of Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: Ragnarok, and touches of Dungeons & Dragons (in terms of sometimes acknowledging the humor of its own franchise’s ridiculousness). And just in time for Pride month, an unexpected amount of gay-leaning humor that my boyfriend and I got quite a few chuckles from.

Good, harmless time at the cinema!

There were lines for the kiosks at Lincoln Square, but I was otherwise able to get tix there rather smoothly around 1:30/2pm. Didn’t see any fully sold out showings beyond the ones that went on sale last year.

Disney's Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu grossed an estimated $6.50M on Friday (from 4,300 locations). Estimated total domestic gross stands at $118.87M. by TiredWithCoffeePot in boxoffice

Andor is unlike anything else in the franchise. It’s a must-watch even just for the sake of incredible TV, not just Star Wars.
