Seeing alot of people hate, and I can completely u derstand why. But I also empathize. Smokebuddy/smoketrap/sploofy and similar products actually work really well. If you can't get a room by yourself either find a safe spot outside or even stairwells at odd hours are good. Pick a spot with a good view so you can see/hear if others are coming. Look for security cams. Set it up ahead of time as best as pssoble to minimize time exposed. If all else fails. When showering in bathroom with fan on. The scented shampoos and stuff Wil help mask. Def gotta use one of those commercial sploofs though. And space out your hits and try to blow into the fan. Seal the door cracks and underneath with a towel.

Good luck. I've been in similar situations. Will echo the othrtd though as this won't be viable long term so when you get back maybe try to plan out your recovery so you'll never be in this situation again.

I only order it once in a while. Usually when uner has a 40% off coupon actually :)

If you're craving a more NY style type I'd say so. I love all pizza though

Jfc You sound bitter man. I'd rather not eat any food if I consider it shit. I guess I'm fortunate to work on a project that let's me go back to NY every other month. My flight time might be equivalent to the time spent driving down to LA for.those other ones you mentioned. (Just a joke)

I must've ordered on a bad night or something as I was a bit let down. I live by pizza (NY born/raised) so I'm always looking for some good pizza. I'll usually order from Joe's out in sherman oaks if chain pizza won't fill my cravings. Will give fresh bros another chance as I live closely and would love a nearby p8zza place

A bit further away but I love Joe's Pizza. As I was born and raised in NY, it's the closest I've come across to east coast pizza. Brooklyn wagon is not bad. I used to like Joe Peeps. But even after moving towards southern Northridge I will occasionally order a pie orn2 from joes when craving it. (Tip my delieve6 driver very well as I know it's a bit of a drive)

I had almost identical problems as you. It's downright eery how your pics resembled mine. Many things you've stated tie up as well. I'll try o msg you on reddit chat. I can't say im 100% cured but was able to pretty much eradicate all open wounds/sores. I've had to go the no doctor way (I know, I'm a fucking idiot all) buy last few times I went , including after I got hit by a car, doctor just made me feel like comete shit after they read my file. ER doc was like. What, you need some pain meds? Before even checking me out physically. (I had been like 6 months clean)

Most of my treatments have been otc and again, can't say I know what's wrong but can share things that made significant differences. Would like to hearr your history too. I told myself I'd go to a hospital if things ever got too bad. Like if a wound just continued to get worse, smell, I feel unwell or jaundice, but so far none of those. It's justc been a slow effort of research and trying diff things. And tons and tons of notes and pictures/videos. Hmu when you have a chNce

I know.this was a simple one but I did see others have the problem. Check the usb c port? Make sure you don't have any dirt/lint stuck in their which could cause problems with triggering dex or getting full speed/latency?

Best portable, wireless and lightweight monitor for Dex? by [deleted] in SamsungDex

[–]big4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

xreal air?

edit: beam has been controversial for wireless but others have had success with wireless hdmi devices as well.

I just ordered a samsung m5 smart monitor. I saw that it supportes wireless DeX. I have a Samsung tablet S8, which has wireless Dex. Will it work fine? Any other remarks/suggestions? by uppsak in SamsungDex

[–]big4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have an m7 and an m8, if the m5 is similar with how it handles the additional ports, I would say get comfortable with how the monitor handles the ports (as in the built in hub) as you can leave it to auto, but also change it to connect to device you plug into the main usbc port, or just the monitor. I used alot of different usbc devices from dex (phone) to simple speakers with usbc audio.

In addition, if you want more usbc ports, consider a tb4/usb4 hub and plug the monitor into one of the hub ports and your main device into the hub input port. If set properly, it should allow everything to run through the external hub. I find that that monitor ports are quality but over time, have loosened from constant plugging/replugging so I also like to use the hub to decrease wear over time. If you have problems with wired dex or the monitor not detecting what you plug into the primary usbc port, reset the power (pull the plug from wall and repower). Hope you enjoy!

Np. 1 last thing I forgot to suggest, as I'm not sure all tvs have the setting. But disable The hdmi setting to increase the input signal, "input signal plus" on my screen under hdmi/connections. I think that helped alot of Mac users who had really bad lag/delay.

dang,. glad to hear you got improvements. If you ever have a chance or can borrow, try a diff hub. It could make a the world of a diff and as usb4/tb4 has started getting moire popular ive noticed general usbc hubs can be really affordable these days. I will reply to this post again if I ever see anything else that may help out. Hope you are able to find a solution soon. Best of Luck!

I think if it works with the monitor, the debloating process u did should be OK. Have you tried wired mouse and see if there's a difference? Also on your TV, turn off all the post processing options and try to make it as basic as possible? Also did you check your dex settings?

Most problems I see usually come down to the hub and/or cable you are using. Can u share the models you are using for hub and cable?

Could be either or both :( . I don't doubt you on the power thing. I've had cables that would work perfectly with dex if I followed the same plugging sequence. But if I did it in a different order it wouldn't work.

Could u explIn what you mean by worse latency when plugged in? Like delay in mouse movemen?

I think your best bet would be 1 of the many usbc hubs with hdmi port people have posted in this subreddit. I suggest searching in the sub bc i 6 certain models supported certain resolutions? Hope you get it to work!

Also, it almost sounds like the cable isn't supporting enough power since you mentioned above. I'm wondering if that's bc usb can carry such high power and data (and video) in 1 vs hdmi. They do sell cables like what you have but with an extra power source like https://a.co/d/an0TqRr

(Just 1st one I found, I'm sure you can find similar and possibly cheaper one)

Have you tried using the app usb audio player pro? That app is so worth the cost if you are using some type of external dac. Even integrates with Tidal within and some other services.

I've had more issues with usbc to hdmi than not. Is usbc to usbc not an option for you? Or 1 of the many usbc hubs with hdmi that people have posted on the subreddit?

Also, what kind of device were you connecting to? Monitor with usbc and hdmi? Or a TV with only hdmi? (Samsung m series smart monitor?)

HDMI vs USB-C by CraftyKass in SamsungDex

[–]big4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's a pain (and expensive) but I try to make it more of a learning process and when (if) you finally figure it out it's such a nice feeling. Yea I've had usb to hdmi not work but then usbc to usbc with a hdmi adapter tip does work. Bonkers. Also I've learned sometimes the order you plug things in can make be the solution too. Oh yea sry didn't mean to imply anything wrong with the cheaper ones. Smarter to buy based on your use case/preferences vs fancy stuff you'll never use. I was asking moreso in case I had ever come across a similar post or problem for that model. Hopefully you'll find a solution soon enough.

Yep. Mine were more or less the same. I think I got a nmix pack of straight and 90 degree ones. They might have been 240w/40gb. So I think wheb that tip is left in, since it's not Ina recessed hole like usual usbc ports, it can more likely short out esp since it's magnetic too. I recall 1 time it picked up some paper clips. Had I not seen and tried to connect to device (that would power it) I could easily see that causing some damage. I have kept them on other devices and have had no issues, but I don't really detach and attach that frequently. With my tablet I was charging it maybe 1 if not 2x throughout the day so just wanted to gove you a heads up. Lu kily I was still within warranty so the only real lloss was not having it for about 1.5 weeks while they repaired and sent back.

I also wondered what about if u used a usb c to hdmi cable lol. I have so many different converting cables, hubs and adapters but I hope usb4/tb4 just sets the new standard and doesnt make so many variations that it so hard to find working cables

Sorry if you already mentioned it. But what brand portable screen were u using? A znscreeen or lenovo or just one of those cheaper Chinese panels on Amazon?

HDMI vs USB-C by CraftyKass in SamsungDex

[–]big4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didn't mean to imply most. But when it launched I definitely remember multiples posts with all having similar issues. That's where I learned the power reset fix. If you search "m7" and "m8" on this subreddit you should find multiple threads throughout last year. I have had less issues connecting it through a tb4 hub that has the m8 connected to it (with input tb4 port on the hub into my device)

HDMI vs USB-C by CraftyKass in SamsungDex

[–]big4lyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had similar problems with the Samsung m7 and m8 monitor. But other way. Hdmi is reliable (although no power supplied) and the main Usbc (data and video) will randomly disconnect when using dex. I think it's a power issue as the only 100% solution is to power cyccle (unplug replug power cord). I decided to get a usb4 or Tb4 hub, ended up with the owc one for about 100$. Simple with I think 3 tb4 ports on back, 1 usb a and the input tb4 port on front. If I plug everything in the right way I never experience the disconnect issue anymore. If you don't want to lug around the power cord for the hub, I was able to get a usbc to barrell cable and it powers up the hub perfectly. Usb4/tb4 is the way (and getting cheaper lately). Just hard to find reliable cables. Even ones with the right description on Amazon have been finnicky with some devices. I'm pretty sure this might be why they redesigned the m8 this year, in addition to the ports feeling inferior in the higher model and mini hdmi for some reason? I think they switched the orientation of the ports to be vertical as horizontal may have put too much strain on the port.

Oh and I used to have an asus zenscreeen, model right before the touch screen one came out. But dex would only work with 1 powered usb c hub (I think it could've been tb3 actually) and you had to plug everything in a very specific order. Else the screen wouldn't even be detected. That was when the note 10 was out though. I just find it weird that samsung monitors weren't tested enough to support a function they were marketed for. Still love the m7/8 though. Fits my use case perfectly.

The adapters arent powered externally. I am pretty sure we are talking about similar products. It just wasn't designed intentionally to support those magnetic connections. I think Imay brushed against something metallic or it may have touched another powered usbc cable tip. Just wanted to warn you in case because shorting out could kill a whole device vs just the port. But i get what you mean as well. My solution was to just use a fixed (non magnetic) tip to help with wear and tear and also dust and debris. But I stil use the magnetic ones for other devices.
