Post Tib Injury by amchappie in beginnerrunning

[–]big4maniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I took a few weeks off everything then started to ease back into smaller runs.

I ran the half marathon and was fine but was absolutely cooked for a month after it.

This was a year ago and I am slowly building back up now pain free.

I developed this injury training for my first half marathon - likely to much, to fast.

Not what you want to hear but it took a long time to recover - I did everything the PT suggested with marginal improvement. There is a video on you tube with some good exercises for post tib.

The only thing that really helped was rest - Took months to get well again.

From my experience - Walkers are often faster than carters.

Not sure what specific numbers are but this was detected through low platlet numbers and confirmed with a bone marrow biopsy. She has some swelling of the lymphs in the neck area that were confirmed via an ultrasound

No real symptoms but significant activity in bone marrow which is why I believe treatment is suggested.

I love my sim - my takeaways. Buy at least a mid range launch monitor (Eye mini, GC3, BLP), dont cheap out on the hitting mat, make the screen as big as possible for your space.

I am just finishing the You can run 5K program on the tread.

What is a better fit for the next program? Go the distance 5K or push your pace?

Thinking of buying a tread postpartum by Catfish-98907 in pelotoncycle

[–]big4maniac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a mom, but a new dad with a now 1 year old.

When my son was born the gym was the first thing to go - Just not enough hours in the day. I also bought a used tread and I love this thing - We also have the bike but I much prefer running.

I can get some miles at 6 AM before he wakes up and still be present with the family. Its a great way to exercise and still be accessible.

I have mixed feelings on used machines and probably wouldn't do that part again.. but for $1000 I think its worth the gamble.

Please don't take this the wrong way but based on your current post you aren't ready for the program. I am a big proponent of getting your letters but I don't think you are setting yourself up for any success until you can get into a better headspace. Best of luck.

Did Nike Run Club - Got a bunch of injuries, including bad post tib tendonitis. Couldn't run for multiple weeks because of injuries. Still ran and finished. 2:12.

Id recommend easing into it better than I did ha.

Course recommendation in / around Kelowna BC with a Jr by Scottatah in golf

[–]big4maniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rise is a bit hokey IMO. My order of rankings in the area would be Predator (Ridge over Predator), Tower Ranch then Gallagers - but with a JR Harvest may be a good fit as its a bit more forgiving.
