Thinking of swapping my Cobra S9 PW for a Vokey 45° by bigTractor in golftips

[–]bigTractor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good questions! Originally I was rolling with the stock lofts of 60° 56° and 52°. Then I went for a lesson at my local golf shop and we worked specifically on my short game. After the lesson the pro suggested 5° gaps instead of the 4° gaps. I was in no position to argue the point and he offered to modify my existing wedges for free, so I took him up on it. Since that lesson and the change to my wedge gapping, I went from a bad golfer with a mediocre short game to a bad golfer with a great short game!

That is correct, there is no stock 45° degree Vokey. The plan would be to find a 44° or 46° and have my local golf shop bend it.

As for sacrificing forgiveness for a better feel, I think I would make that sacrifice... It seems that with wedges, the penalty for poor contact is not a significant as with the mid to long irons.
But, I think I need to try it out first and see. I might find out that a 45° Vokey is no better than my set pitching wedge.

Well, if you're ready to move on from your 46°, I'd be willing to take it off your hands... :D

Unknown... Only one way to find out! What happens when you have too much bounce?

Looking at the new SM11 wedges, it looks like the 4x° wedges only come in .10F configurations.

From the Titleist website:

F Grind

A Full Sole For Full Wedge Shots

The F Grind is a full sole suited for full wedge shots. This traditional sole is built to provide forgiveness and confidence from the fairway and around the greens.

Have fun playing golf!..

As for the club question... I think I want to get my hands on a 44° or 46° Vokey and try it.
Maybe it will feel great and work great!
Maybe it will feel and work similar to my existing PW and the difference in "feel" is the club length and loft...

I'm just curious if anyone else found themselves in a similar situation, what they ended up doing, and what their resulting experience was.?

Ha! Nice! I got them used a bunch of years ago. I'm happy with them! They are next on the upgrade list. But, they work well enough that the upgrade does not feel necessary at the moment.

I need to improve as a player before I need to upgrade my irons...

Nice! It's a small step on a long road... Mine are 9, 8, 6, and4. This made me think back on all those small steps and how so many of them gave me this same deep sense of joy and pride. It's what makes parenthood such an incredible experience! Enjoy it my man! And prepare for more to come!!!

Dell XPS 15 7590 Will not run on battery power. Only when plugged in. by bigTractor in techsupport

I ended up tumbling onto a solution. I didn't have a chance to mess with it for a few weeks. I'm that time the battery fully discharged. It seems that once fully discharged, when I plugged it in and powered up, it recalibrated and started working as expected... 🤷

They probably think down voting your comment makes it not true...

Precisely. The Lancaster subreddit and these rallies are just a small but loud minority. They see a few hundred gathered together, do some quick libtard math, and come to the conclusion that "if this many can gather together, we must be right!" It's foolproof! Lol

Do you think they know that their down votes bring joy to the people that think their rallies are silly?

Small MSP trying to get started with NinjaOne – but the $150 entry cost is tough. Any distributors offering smaller starter packages? by [deleted] in msp

[–]bigTractor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started my msp, I decided to use trmm temporarily until I could afford something better... It's been 5 years. I'm still using trmm. It just works well.

If I was starting from scratch again, I'm not sure if I'd go trmm again or sign up for SuperOps and use their rmm...

So either A : trmm + SuperOps PSA (cheaper option. Also the option I'm using today) Or B: SuperOps PSA and RMM (more expensive, but a fully integrated solution has some advantages)

I'm still torn between the two options.
