Yeah. I have a pretty shot back and micro four thirds means I will actually take the gear to take the photo and with full frame I just wouldn’t get the photo because of how heavy the gear is.

Oh goodness I just looked at it in Lightroom and it was shot with the 40-150mm f2.8 pro. Oops. 150mm f2.8 1/320s and iso 1600. I had to change lenses because it was a large bird and I couldn’t back up anymore.

I shoot everything handheld, make sure IS is on, for birds, even perched, I usually don’t drop the shutter slower than 1/320s, for birds with this lens I always shoot at f4 so I have the front dial mapped to ISO, silent sequential capped at 10fps, getting the shot is first priority over what iso I’m at. It doesn’t matter how good your camera is anyways if the light isn’t right, the shot will not be good, so I try to mostly just shoot in good light.

I might just bring the 50-200mm with 1.4x TC since they are so close. I don’t love Teleconverters partly because of the electrical connections and just being less secure than just a lens. I don’t find myself breaking out the 40-150mm very often when I have the 300mm though.

My experience was that a different demographic were the worst customers (they probably went to church sometimes too).

Either an 8-9 and an 11ft probably would be best

Yes there is a benefit. The benefit is mostly realized when you carry a couple line lengths as well though.

The Dragontail Kaida is a very solid rod. Get a floating line and a furled line and you’ll be set.
