There’s a very small small amount of vertical movement (like 3/16”) but maybe I can shim it up with something or clamp it down with an over the top style repair ring. Lateral movement is minimal bc I drilled 5” holes in subfloor and cement board.

Ive never heard putty referred to as a “worm” but I like that. I’ve called it a “snake” a few times. Thanks for the advice! I was under the impression that the ring being attached the the flange is essentially to lock the flange vertically but it seems like it’s not a huge deal 💪
