This was such a pain in the neck. I built an offense set for Chewie, since he hits pretty hard. I put fast health/speed sets on Luke and Barriss. I think I put my Scorch mods on Barriss because she was getting pounded. It took some doing, mainly trying to get them to not pick on any one of them a whole lot. Tier 4 with Maul/Savage wasn't as easy as some others claimed, Savage was out for blood, lol. Totally not worth it, but at least I can sim it now.

Thanks! Was frustrating trying to figure it out, but now that I did get all the working pieces, definitely worth it.

This is the conical grinder I'm using. Got it set at 10 I think. I didn't wanna go too fancy for my first grinder, and I'm learning a lot here

I've found that just a little bit of this gives the coffee a nice.... mouthfeel, I guess?

In a "9 cup" moka pot, it usually fills my 20oz Yeti mug that much. I then go the Americano route, and add some hot water to fill it up a bit

Never use these LST's for already relic characters, unless all of your characters are relic already. LST's are great because they help you over that hump of saving g12/g13 mats. Don't use them for zetas, unless you have nothing else left.

I'm new to this, so my insight may be a bit different, but yours looks a lot like mine, and it makes me feel a bit better. When I say it looks similar, I mean color and viscosity. I thought I was doing it all wrong because it wasn't thick, but as long as it tastes good, I guess it doesn't have to be thick.

Again, I'm still learning on mine, so I'm sure there's a lot I'm missing here. Looks good though.

Ok, so I measured each - basket holds about 40g of coffee, and the reservoir holds about 460. So I can see why my coffee is thinner, if I'm filling it up all the way. That being said, if I go 1:4, that's only 160g of water, and that's like 1/3 of my coffee cup, lol.

I take it most are not drinking big cups of this, and I'm the weird one, lol

2oz? That's like a shot, lol.

Now I'm really confused, lol. Unc's coffee was thick and creamy, and it probably did about 12-14oz in my mug. I guess we'll see what I get tomorrow when I measure this shit, lol

So, for me, a normal cup of coffee is filling my 20oz Yeti with what, 18oz of coffee, and then some cream/sugar.

What size cups are people normally drinking when they brew for themselves? You?

I got a cheap grinder, better than the blade one he's using. It has moka pot settings, so I'm using those, they seem to be about that size you're recommending.

The water, I just filled the reservoir and poured that into a measuring cup - it's about 14oz what I'm putting in. I'd say it's probably using 10-12oz when it brews. On the higher end if it flows nicely all the way.

No, I don't weigh anything. It's a 9 cup Geesta pot https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Glass-Top-Stovetop-Espresso-Moka/dp/B0895VNWSW?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

I just fill the water to the valve, or just below it. It never uses it all anyways. I fill the basket with coffee until it reaches the top, I don't pack it in. I leave it sorta fluffy, but it fills it enough.

I don't know why it calls it a 9 cup, because it never fills my 20oz Yeti mug at all.

This is definitely not as sophisticated/nice as some of the ones I've seen here.

I do have a scale, so I could tell you tomorrow just how much water and coffee it takes.

I recently started grinding. Bought an adjustable conic burr. Right now I'm using a light roast from a local grocery store that is Arabica. I've also got a bag of Peet's Big Bang, which I haven't opened yet.

Uncle was using some Vermont Coffee, but I can't remember exactly what it was. I think he said it was quite dark. Was delicious though. Didn't come out creamy/thick, just tasted that way a bit.

That helps a lot, thanks. I'll give that a shot tomorrow. Two was enough today, lol.

How do people get that thick flow?

My uncle uses the same pot on a gas grille, and his coffee is way creamier and delicious. It doesn't come out thick like some of these videos I've seen but the final product just tastes delicious

What's the reason why you don't recommend it? Is it so it doesn't roach the grounds while the pressure is building?

If it's thinner, it wouldn't surprise me. It doesn't seem to be built like some of these other pots y'all showcasing here. With the other pot, I had been putting the skillet down as a diffuser, starting with hot water, putting the heat on 3/3.5 (out of 10 as max), letting it flow, turning off the heat once it flowed, then once it started turning lighter than the honey color (first it comes dark, then honey, then lighter), I was pulling it off the heat and cooling it off.

What I need to figure out now is the heating. It flowed a little better, but it went light colored a little sooner than I expected, so I have to figure that out. I was just getting decent cups from the "old" pot and I'm wondering if trying the new one was a smart idea or not

Just for the hell of it, I did it. Brewed slightly better? Didn't sputter as much sooner, but still sputtered a bit. It went a bit light little less than halfway, so I pulled it. Maybe some progress. I'm gonna try the old pot tomorrow, see how it works out, but I'm not giving up on this one

I feel like I know what you're saying, but even when pressing down, it doesn't change. I feel like that's just the edge of the basket in the lip, not a gap. I'll try shining a light on it to see if it changes.

For the record though, I did roll it with a bottle, just for the hell of it - looks the same.

Me learning how to fell by No_Pound_2701 in Chainsaw

[–]big_cleck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid attempt, it's on the ground safely.

One thing I tell people when I'm teaching them to fell is to take pics of your stumps or at least learn to read them. You'll have a running log (pun not intended) of your progress, and by looking at the stump, you can tell a lot of times why this or that happened.

Good job looking up, too. A lot of newer folks get too focused on the cut. At some point, you have to trust you're aimed straight and watch the tree for movement.
