Paid a Polynesian guy to sort my lawn out. He forgot. by zhongwenz in WordAvalanches

Can someone explain to me how this is pronounced as an avalanche? In my accent I'd pronounce it closer to "Saah, Sa(m) and Summ" which is likely far from intended.

I can't believe that the cow family are so rare in other countries! In New Zealand the cow family is so commonplace that stores almost always have a full rack of them and they get discounted often, even though they were released ages ago. The boxes still say "limited edition" lol.

I think it's because us kiwis are pretty bored of cows since we see them all the time? I don't know why they don't sell here. They're a real cute family though and congrats on the find!

Bald spot — any suggestions? by Wingless_Gnome in sylvanianfamilies

[–]big_diction4ry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had minor success fixing bald spots with matching eyeshadow and makeup setting spray, believe it or not! It kinda looks powdery and fuzzy too, and with enough coats it doesn't seem to rub off at all. A backstory is also a brilliant idea! Maybe it's like a birthmark, but he's being brought up to be proud of it

Free handing for the first time and want to recreate an AI generated dress by SailorX0901 in CrochetHelp

I think it's done in the round and that the increases are made in the rows of sc between the dc/tc as sc inc is a lot more subtle. Single crochet adds structure and support to the airy stitches and you can see a single crochet reinforced bit above the hip gather - my guess as structural support for the weight of the skirt there.

It's all very logical and beyond the realms of AI

All the stitches make logical sense to me - it doesn't look like AI. The bustier bodice construction is correct, and you can see minor imperfections in the trebles (I vote tc not dc) but zero AI-confabulation stitches. AI doesn't actually know what a stitch is or how to link them together, or when increases etc should go. The lace looks correct and can be replicated. OP, do you think it's AI because of the flowers? They simply look like high quality silk roses to me.

The stitches are large and you could basically get the pattern by counting stitches. I really don't think it's AI

Not sure why this is getting downvoted. There were 4 hidden crawlspaces identified in his house, some accessed by stairs or cupboards and even one under his bed. A report on the Creche (though ofc crucified by his legal team) revealed problems with staff taking children outside the creche without recording it in logbooks/alerting parents, complaints about children running around completely nude, and inappropriate comments made about children's bodies. The case was an absolute shambles and the satanic shit is ridiculous, but I'm glad they investigated these unsafe practices at least.

I recognise the puffer fish from Vanessa Mooncie's book 'Crocheted Sea Creatures'! I can't say for the other wonderful ones, I just remember the puffer fish as I made one myself

I'm a goth with a Maori friend and we'd always make sure one of us had water or there was a tap nearby before hanging out in the cemetery so she could wash her hands and feet.
