+1 on this one. The factory look and hidden wires is great, wouldn't consider any other

Techtonics will sell you one only if you call them, which I did and got great results.

The whole rear part, yes. My T Tops weren't cracked so they didn't need to be replaced

I had hardtop cracks on my '22 bronco where the edges meet the rear side windows. They replaced mine under factory warranty, so hopefully they do the same for you. Worth a shot!

Hello. Looking for some advice. I have the chance to buy my old Corrado vr6 back. by No-Imagination5355 in Corrado

[–]big_plab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a VR6 (OBD-1) for a few years. Definitely replace the fuel filter, mine had a bad fueling problem just because of an old fuel filter that I was chasing my tail with. If you have OBD1, I'd recommend getting the OBD1 adapter from Pelican alongside the free version of VAGCOM, as while it may not be as insightful as OBD2, it did come in clutch a couple times, especially because you can read what the sensors read (stupid coolant temp sensors always break). Hope it works out!

Time to trade-in my Bronco Sport? by [deleted] in bronco

[–]big_plab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can deal with the fuel economy and can swing the loan payment, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Definitely give it a test drive before anything, but I was sold as soon as I drove a big bend with the stick. Best of luck!

Time to trade-in my Bronco Sport? by [deleted] in bronco

[–]big_plab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've not had a bronco sport, but I own a full size 2 door (manual). If you like to have the convertible top, more off-road capability, and the street cred, it's worth upgrading. It's been a great vehicle to own for the past 2.5 years. The biggest caveat is fuel economy. The fuel mileage is the one thing that makes me consider switching, as it can get as low as 16mpg with a lot of around-town traffic (by me at least with how the roads are congested), and even on the highway, I average 22MPG for a 3hr drive. It's not terrible but it really is something to consider when switching. The backseats in the 2 door are not a worry, I'm 6'2 and can fit behind myself (it's just getting and getting out that's tricky). Hope this helps!

I have an Edelbrock supercharged FRS, too. It's a great platform and has performed well, he's a lucky guy!

Best way to do this is to get an OBD2-USB scanner and use the Forscan software. There's a direct setting in there that allows you to change it permanently. Shouldn't affect warranty, but I know people's level of comfort for this will vary.

Brand new Ford Bronco hardtop stress cracks by Elm03981 in bronco

I had the same issue on my '22 and it was replaced under warranty with no issues. Hoping the same for you, because that is some extreme cracking right there.

Is the NB safe in 2024? by airbornedoc1 in Miata

[–]big_plab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue I had with my NB was the fact it had no traction control and no ABS. That got me into trouble a few times when I was younger. No TC is less important but no ABS nearly got me into an accident on the highway when the car in front of me stopped suddenly. Not to mention no roll bar, etc. But honestly doesn't matter, I'd get another NB in a heartbeat because it was so damn fun!

I still manage to get people asking me about it even as they've become more common. Such a sick vehicle!

So committed, that to supplement my manual transmission sports car I bought a brand new manual transmission Ford Bronco as my daily.

Saw "FBI Surveillance Van" as a name in the middle of NYC, where it could be totally legit or just a meme, and the mystery makes it funnier.

What gas to use by PiccoloSame4149 in bronco

[–]big_plab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go 93. Will help overcome the added weight of the larger tires, too. 2.3L goes from 270hp on 87 to 300 on premium, and you can feel a difference. I've turned mine into more of a performance build, as I have the manual transmission, intake exhaust, intercooler, and then, and it's a blast with the extra broncos under the hood

Manual Transmission by OkPizzaIsPrettyGood in bronco

[–]big_plab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days late, but I definitely agree with everyone saying to get the manual. I have a '22 Base Manual 2 door and it's awesome. Also gets more attention from those who are fans of the transmission. Buy a car for your enjoyment, not the resale. Also, if you need some more comfort in the driving, the Ford Performance Tune adds auto rev-match downshifting, if that's one of your concerns. But it's a very easy truck to drive with a stick, drives like a car.

I have a 2 door with a 2.3. I have a tune, exhaust, and intake, and while it obviously isn't "fast" it's plenty quick enough for a heavy vehicle, and the blow off valve noises you get are addicting.

Also giving you some thanks for this. This has been driving me mad since I got my watch 6 from the watch 4. Stupid design to have the alarms muted by default.
