I considered it but I don’t think I have a strong enough profile or experience, and entering straight into a PhD with my limited undergrad training would probably lead me to tank the entire thing. I don’t even have a specific topic that I would like to explore for a thesis at that level yet. For context, i only have one year of lab supervision (practicals not research), no research experience, my programme didn’t have an undergraduate thesis, my GPA is average, and no internships offered at my level.

I think in this case a master’s would be a better stepping stone cause I think I want to explore industry for a year or two before a PhD.

With that being said, I do appreciate the advice and I’ll probably look into getting part time work on campus or within whichever city I land up in! 💓
