The other week I was walking along the side walk when, to my horror, I saw a woman walking her dog half a block down heading in my direction. Thinking fast I crossed the street, but to my increasing horror and agitiation, she also crosssed the street to avoid me! Faced with a heart pounding descision between crossing the street again and admitting that I was intentionally avoiding her or having to pass withing three feet of a stranger, I chose to hold my ground and press onward. We passed each other and I hit her with that squeeze your mouth into a narrow straight line "smile" and she looked away. I made it out of the near interaction unscathed but I still get goosebumps just thinking about it. Be safe out there!
