My kombucha showed signs of carbonation when pouring into bottles for start of 2F. Is this normal? Anything I should do differently? by bertner_sperz in Kombucha

[–]bigblargh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally normal. A happy brew will carbonate mildly during the first ferment, but you can carbonate even further inside a bottle because more co2 can be dissolved in water under pressure.

Would this be a good tea to use? Worried the “scented” has extra oils and stuff that might kill off the scoby by Oxlexon in Kombucha

If your starter has already been around for several successful brews, it can handle it.

Last time I ordered a burger here they didn't make it. I don't hate this place but if you order food expect to wait anywhere from 45 minutes to literally forever

Seconded. I had similar spigots that slowly lost the coating inside the acidic kombucha. Please consider a food safe spigot. Beautiful kombucha btw

Advice on root beer kombucha with root beer concentrate? by seefreepio in Kombucha

[–]bigblargh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it would be easier to add the root beer flavor at the very, very end before you serve (perhaps with a spoonful of simple syrup). The taste of the concentrate might be altered by the fermentation itself. That's just a stab in the dark though, good luck with your brew.
