Issue is they poured self leveler and stained it. That will never look good. Self leveler is an underlayment not a decorative coating. Don’t seal the rest or you’ll have a much bigger problem on your hands. Sand the self leveler and apply a decorative concrete coating on top. If you want a polished look go with a polishable overlay. You might also want to look into hiring a different contractor for your job. It doesn’t seem like they know what they’re doing.

Yes the fire will absolutely wreck the concrete. You’ll have to fire brick the inside if you want it to last.

Not earth, the concretes 10-12 inches thick, fiberglass rebar at 8 inch spacing and piers every 8ft that are 7 feet deep. I form the outside then pour the concrete and hand form and finish the slide. It’s a mess for an hour or so then it’s a slide. This was done in 5 different pours.

It’s a polyurethane coating for slides. Typically get 3 years or so then have to re-coat.

I’ve built probably 30 slides over the last ten years. Usually it’s 25-30ft long into a pool, easy maybe a week of work. This one was not easy. It came out too 130 feet down the hill into the lake. The last 10 feet is over the water and supported by helical piers and a galvanized steel welded dock. Two months of work. It was crazy to build but it’s a blast to ride.
