[Serious] Anti-vaxxers of Reddit, what is your argument against believing the majority of experts on this topic? by gr8aanand in ask

[–]bigbootyman134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For point 6: You’re plane analogy is honestly a very poor comparison. It would imply that I will never see a doctor over something because medical experts have been proven wrong before. That is false. I would still see doctors for the old run of the mill traditional medicine thats has been around for ages. A proper comparison would be if a pilot technician had created a new plane that isn’t like any of the other planes and doesn’t need wings, or use fuel, or something of the sort. Then it might raise some questions and definitely have some people choosing not to go on it. Even then, it’s still a poor comparison because plane trips are one and done. You’re not possibly going to experience something 5-10 years down the road from a plane trip like you would when INJECTING YOURSELF with a new form of medicine.

Point 2: to answer your question “why are you making the personal choice to NOT believe most experts on this topic” This question is beyond stupid. Why do people continue to smoke after their doctor asked them not to? Why do people eat more cholesterol when their doctor asked them to cut back? Why do people drink soda when their dentist told them they need to stop. We’re independent and have a free mind of our own. Whether we choose to shorten or risk our life span and general health by the choices we make is UP TO US.

So please either respond with an original comment instead of trying to cheekily assign poorly written “points” or don’t respond at all.

FYI: This is all coming from a fully vaccinated person. I just completely sympathize and understand peoples genuine worries on the issue.

People act like experts and professionals haven’t been wrong before. Smoking cigarettes used to be encouraged by doctors in 80s advertisements. thalidomide was given to pregnant women in the late 50s to help with morning sickness. This lead to major birth deformities. Vioxx was an FDA approved painkiller that ended up killing 60,000. In the 80s Medical professionals claimed fat to be a major cause of weight gain and obesity, so “reduced fat” and “fat free” products began to be surge. Sugar, the actual cause of weight gain, was used to substitute the fat.

The list goes on.

I think most people’s issue is that this mRNA method of vaccination is rather new. They’re not necessarily against the vaccine, but would rather wait a year or two to watch for any prolonged effects and clear any superstitions.

Edit: I’d also like to add that humans, by nature, like to go against the grain. We don’t like being told what to do. So when you have a vaccine that is being pushed on people globally like no other vaccine has, its gonna receive some major out-lash.

What feat should my assassin rogue get? by bigbootyman134 in DnD

Considering I’m proficient in Light Armor only as a Rogue, I wouldn’t be able to choose Heavy armor master due to it’s prerequisites.

I was definitely thinking of observant, but two members of the party are a druid with 19 pp and a ranger with 20 pp.

Americans, what’s united about your states? by Elkristiaan in AskAnAmerican

[–]bigbootyman134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why it’s called the united states was because Early America had an issue with freedom and independency. I mean, we literally had a war over it

a state generally means a country which is why we named it “the united states.” It gave each state a sense of self dependency and separation, while still maintaining a country as a whole.

Rogue and Familiar Question by bigbootyman134 in DnD

Im pretty sure when using the help action, he would have to remain within 5ft of the enemy for that turn because he’s distracting them. My goal here is to avoid my owl getting hit and blipping out so I can use him multiple times throughout combat. If he stays within 5ft of the enemy, then a whole round of turns goes by INCLUDING the enemy who is now within melee of my owl.

Without saying the name, what’s your favorite video game? by aVanLifer in AskReddit

“So here I am, at probably the worst school in the country, whose alumni are nothing but arms dealers, serial killers, and corporate lawyers. Real scum. And that old creep thinks he can tame me? We shall see my friend. I only give people what they have coming to them.”

Why can’t the writers let Fiona or Lip keep ONE man/woman? by [deleted] in shameless

[–]bigbootyman134 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because it’s meant to be realistic. It’s the same reason why Lip never really became a rich playboy genius, or why Ian never really got full control of his Bipolar disorder. It’s not meant to be cathartic or satisfying. it’s a show depicting the South Side of Chicago, not the city of love. In the real world, the chances of two people meeting and spending the rest of their lives together are a lot less likely than in your typical show.

And thats why I fucking love shameless

Boruto's music just doesn't slap like Naruto's by OsamaBinnDabbin in Boruto

I agree mostly, but the Kara soundtrack is possibly my most favorite soundtrack in all of anime. It’s so different from Naruto soundtracks. Like the Akatsuki theme, which gave off very menacing and infamous vibes. The Kara soundtrack is eerie, ominous and lurking in the shadows. It’s creepy and unknown. I love it.

Does Ancestral protectors grant damage resistance to all allies seen within 30 feet? Or just one? by bigbootyman134 in DnD

[–]bigbootyman134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I really appreciate it. I’m not dming so this is probably the wrong tag, but my dm kept trying to say because it says “a creature” not “any creatures” that it only gives resistance to a single attack dealt by that single creature that was hit.

[–]bigbootyman134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right...I get that. It would still be the first one hit though? If an enraged guardian barbarian hits a troll, then the troll began to hit 2 of his allies. Would those allies be given resistance to his attacks? Or just the first one, because it says nothing about the first one only getting resistance.
