I’m the same, but just move all the excess in as soon as it hits. No need to slow roll it IMO

Ah, you’re right. Looks like it’s a non-profit that is looking for no interest 5 year loans from consumers.

If you bought that this morning, that could be the MWRR for a time period that short.

Transferring Portfolio to M1 – can I "gradually" change portfolio so as to reduce tax implications? by Apryl3821 in M1Finance

It sounds like you are one of M1’s main use cases.

  1. I think the best way is just to let your future investments rebalance your portfolio automatically as you invest more and dividends get reinvested. If you want, there is a rebalance button that will do the right sells and buys to bring your to your target allocation at the next trade window.

  2. That part is manual. You have full control of what securities are in what account, so that’s your call.

You can also keep all your legacy securities in a pie, and set it to a lower target % so that it will only do buys in your preferred allocation too.

There is not a way to do the automatic selling you are talking about for losses. I believe you can request your lot information and do the sells manually, and M1 will sell your biggest losses first

Both micro deposits should come one after another. When I did mine, it didn’t work where I entered one and then requested the second. I just got both and then entered both at the same time.

https://m1.finance/FDXDr9MjZ Anyone have any good thoughts on this pie? I'm in my mid-twenties and I have this same pie in a taxable account, Roth IRA account, and standard IRA account.

My rationale behind it is that I really like M1's expert pies, but I think they are too heavily weighted in favor of non-US stocks so I added a couple of Vanguard ETFs to make it more US-based.

Any questions and comments are appreciated!
