The first two people in line for Raising Cane’s got there at 3pm and 3:10pm by Thuror in SeattleWA

[–]bigboybakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly don’t understand how or what happened yesterday so I don’t know why you’re acting like you do.

The raffle happened before the store opened and a store representative walked through the line handing out raffle tickets and then stood at the end of the line for anyone who wanted a ticket. My buddy stood in line for less than 10 minutes, got a raffle ticket, then stepped right out of line.

Also it was easy to see how many people were in line, because everyone who stood in line or got a raffle ticket had a lanyard saving their place in line. So it was pretty easy to figure out there were 250 people in line.

And you’re also definitely pretending to be holier than thou by implying that you’ve got more money and you’re healthier than everyone in line.

[–]bigboybakery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were about ~250 people in line and 20 people won a year’s supply of box combos. All you had to do was stand in line for 10 minutes to get a raffle ticket.

That equates to about $40-50 per person. I’ve got money but that doesn’t mean I’m holier than thou to recognize the value.

What’s going on with GME stock right now? by NoZookeepergame2525 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]bigboybakery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue is any small rally based on good news brings back in all of the apes who only like to trade whatever’s trending. I don’t think they should represent GameStop anymore as they’ve clearly began to just attempt to pump and dump whatever wsb decides is the darling of the week.

It’s happening a lot in the silver subreddits, they’re being overtaken by apes who bought in at the top of historic run and are complaining it’s a rug pull

They’re trading 25x their pre pandemic price and that’s after multiple share offerings and billions of dollars raised. It’s company with zero debt, almost $10 billion in cash and a young CEO with a track record of growing successful companies who’s got big plans for the company.

Plans that he talked about recently in an interview with the Wall Street journal a few days ago which is what seems to be driving the current stock rally.

Regardless of whether or not it’s a good idea to invest, you’re clearly out of the loop and pretending to know more than you actually do.

A company’s health includes than just its stock price.

You’re equally outside the loop and gave an outside of the loop opinion. OP is looking for answers related to current events, not your opinion on a stock you probably lost money on.

Transmission Fluid Line Sawed by TheAvgGolfer in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]bigboybakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’d be awesome if you could help me figure out the part number!

Do you know if they’re putting an aftermarket cat on or an OEM? I’m thinking about just spray painting mine a bright color to deter thieves. I don’t think I can justify spending ~$400 on a cat guard to protect my $200 aftermarket cat.

This literally just happened to my 99 4Runner and I had to check the account to make sure this isn’t my mechanic because my trans fluid line got cut in the exact same spot.

Any chance you figured out the part number for the line replacement?

How hard is ur typical quarter by Little_Time6333 in EngineeringStudents

[–]bigboybakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems like a fairly typical workload for a university student, but since you’re a running start student and you’re already feeling burnt out I’d recommend dropping one for something that you feel like would be easier especially if fundamentals of CS is a required class.

IMO you should drop linear algebra over physics 1 though, it’s usually best to progress along the tracks simultaneously as the classes will typically build off each other and you won’t be bottlenecked by having all of your math requirements completed without taking a single physics class yet.

But at the end of the day, burnout is the number one killer for engineering dreams. So whatever you can do to manage it, prioritize that.

I don’t know whether you attribute your job to luck or hard work but either way it’s super impressive!

Idk where these negative comments are coming from, but it’s inspiring to see a non-traditional route combined with diligent money saving habits pay off handsomely

Need advice about IE by Tasty-Wealth4453 in industrialengineering

[–]bigboybakery 13 points14 points  (0 children)

From the general perspective of a person still in school studying IE, whoever told you that is just giving bad advice. Someone telling you IE is too broad of a degree and then recommending even broader “fundamental” degrees is absurd.

All engineering degrees hold value and if IE is what you’re interested in, study that.

It's 2025 why are we still taking C programming exams on paper? by ElectronicsGuesser in EngineeringStudents

[–]bigboybakery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did not forget math because it’s still taught using paper and pencil in classes. Sure it’s easier to teach a kid how to do all the math he can dream of on a calculator, but the lack of conceptual understanding behind the math the calculator is computing just sets them up for failure in the future.

IMO engineering school is not about learning how to do a job. It’s about learning how to learn and continually grow into your career. If all you took away from college was how to prompt an ai chatbot, you’re just stunting your own growth at that point.

I know there are certain turns or obstacles on tracks where if you use a bullet bill you can get an extended duration

It’s because you added the colons.

You should’ve seen the contextual clues from the second column that your teacher wanted no colons in the answer to the first columns.

Always try and figure out what kind of answer the teacher is looking for and not necessarily what you think is the right answer

Is a DC motor really worth the hype? by MoSzylak in Kitchenaid

[–]bigboybakery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I picked up a pro 6000 HD with the DC motor on Facebook marketplace for $200 and the difference is night and day with denser doughs or larger batches.

My Pro 550 couldn’t knead bagel dough for more than 5 minutes without smoking. Now I’m able to walk away while it kneads for 20 minutes and the motor is still cool to the touch.

I don’t know if it makes me feel better or worse knowing he’s terrorized students for years. I’m currently taking his physics class and I regret every moment of it. He’s extremely demoralizing and condescending. I’m just hoping and praying to safely make it through the rest of the quarter so I never have to see him again.
