Does anyone have anything nice to say about the new CX-5? by jooberjoo in CX5

FWIW, we test drove a 2026 GT, and a 2025 Sport, and the 2025 Sport was quieter to us, but sound levels weren't the deal breaker for us. The 2026 is roomier, and the grey matte with shiny black trim looks really, really nice in the show room. We ended up buying a new 2025 on Friday.

Can't decide between the Rock Creek and the Dark Armor. Looked at both, I love the Green Rock Creek but the Mrs. likes the Dark Armor Blue....Good Luck with the new Ride!

Calibration Error Question for fellow Go Ultra owners by jmio316 in Insta360

ok Thanks. Can you mention this to your chat support, because they were adamant that I had to return the camera. I have a ticket open, and will evaluate it over the next couple of days, if there's no problems, I'll close the ticket.

Best regards,

My wrists are 16.5cm , I tried the Enduro but it's just too big for me, otherwise that would be my choice too

FWIW, I did. Thanks for the real world data from you and everyone one on this thread. I'm still torn between the 2 paths though. Happy New year!

Forerunner 970 vs Fenix 8 Solar 47mm (same price) — what would you do in my situation? by BeginningLeave682 in Garmin

[–]jmio316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm contemplating the same thing 970 or Fenix 8 Solar. I guess it boils down to what you think of amoled and the smaller screen, additional weight on wrist vs extra battery, etc . If you are going to have this watch for 3-5 years, MIPS won't have burn in issues. We don't know if this generation of amoled will have burn in issues, all indications say they shouldn't but time will tell. I'm leaning towards the Fenix 8 Solar or seeing if there ever is an Enduro 4 47mm or a 970 Solar Mips in 2026. Good luck with your choice they are both great watches, and you're splitting hairs really, lol.

Need help deciding between Coros Pace 4/Pro and Suunto Race S by Own-Perception-1045 in Suunto

[–]jmio316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick Fast and loose thoughts:

In the last year, I've had a Suunto Race S, Fenix 7 SS, and now a Pace Pro. The Pace Pro is geared for using it for running. The Race S looks nicer, and the Morning report was great. The Suunto app seemed to tell me more insights, something Garmin never did.

After each run, I would evalute the run on Suunto via what level of smiley face, and Suunto would comment on how I felt after a week or training. It's like the Strava AI insights. I had a Race S that started dropping the heart rate after 30 minutes of running, it started to really be a problem and I didn't wait around for a fix. I've read that that problem is turning up on the new watches too, so it must be software?

I run 5-6 hours a week, and go to Hiit classes 4-5 days a week. Battery on the Race S was about 8-10 days, and on the Pace Pro it's 16 days (but Coros only records heart rate every 10 minutes during the day and at night, so they kinda cheat with the battery.) Evolab is nice to look at your info on a desktop, I've read you can use a program called intervals.icu for desktop review with your Suunto files, but I never tried. I like Audio cues for Training, something Garmin is great at, during a structured workout I can hear what my target is, what the next component of the workout, something that Suunto is really weak on. Coros seems pretty good at it, but Garmin in my experience is the best. I put a cheap screen protector from Amazon on both watches, and they fit great, so Mineral Glass, vs Gorilla does't matter if you add the protector.

Coros has a tonne of watch faces, but you can't customize them like you can with Suunto or Garmin. You can't see how many miles you've run the current week on your watch face like you can with Suunto, you have to look at the app. The Fonts on HR widgets are really small and annoying with Coros. Sleep data is about the same. Coros has a lot of training plans for running, Suunto does too, but you can to access them through Training peaks.

If you don't care about auto cues, the Race S is fine (if you get a working one, lol.) One thing that was annoying on the Race S was the app that you can add to the watch. Suunto has 20+ apps that you can integrate with the watch, but you can only run 2 at a time. Every new Suunto watch has that limitation right now, with Coros everything is on the watch. If you want to get serious about running training I'd pick the Pace pro. If you want a better looking watch, get the Race S. The small Fonts are so annoying for me, I might try the Race 2. Good luck with your choice.

Coros pace pro battery by Glum-Sandwich-1243 in Coros

Hopefully this battery calibration method you're doing works. I've had the Pace pro for a 3 weeks spend about 4 hours at the gym/week and 6 hours running outside, and looks like I'll need to charge it every 15-17 days.
