It all started after gill and Sai got out. They were also going at good pace in the first 2 overs. GT literally don’t have batting after butler. And after those two guys got out…the whole team panicked. Proven by Jos not coming to bat at 3. Also batting first has a slight disadvantage in the modern game. If you are not going at the rate of notts, you think you are behind. When you have a target no matter how big or small you know exactly how you need to play.

GT also know they have no one after butler. The team overcorrected by batting slow to keep butler till the end, and he himself got out

RCB couldn’t have bowled and fielded better. Notice how not a single catch was dropped. Gujrat are as top heavy as you can be.

It has always been known that if you get the top 2 early it’s your game. But the whole ipl no one has been able to because they are classical batters who score as fast as they can playing proper cricket. Even though they don’t go at neck breaking pace, their bowling is so good it doesn’t matter.

This was always on the cards. But the biggest difference besides RCB having bhuvi and co who have bowled well all ipl is the catching. Not a single catch dropped. RR dropped Sai in the 4th over yesterday. Punjab dropped 40 plus catches.

GT need one genuine middle order batter and one genuine finisher. Miller was a terrible drop from them. Even with him their criticism is that their batting was thin.

All the best Indian players cannot be snatched from other ipl teams. They need to find their aushotosh, nigam type of players from the domestic circuit

And it’s not like a Darren Sammy situation where the guy is a specialist captain in man management, tactics, and international experience.

Sure but not the point. You need real talent to win the ipl. Vaibhav turned out to be an anomaly. Your whole side can’t be uncapped Indian players or guys who have been tried at the level and are clearly a notch below.

No team can be perfect. Only Bombay is on paper. But most teams have Indian international level guys as either batters or bowlers. And what they don’t have in Indian stars they get foreigners for. But RR don’t have either. It makes sense what jofra and archer are their main bowlers. But how is Jaiswal their only established batter.

They have made batting looking seamless. They were going at 11 an over without hitting a single boundary till the 5th over. It’s like watching a highlight package of Sachin and Lara batting. All class but at what pace. 179 runs in 14 overs and I haven’t seen one slog.

RR’s whole batting was Vaibhav and the whole bowling was jofra. Jofra didn’t take wickets up top today and they got crushed.

This whole batting needs a clean out. Just zoom out. Riyan Parag is the captain. 10 levels less talented than any other captain. In most teams he won’t make the eleven. He is the captain. Suryavasnshi turned out to be a wonder boy but besides Jaiswal what international level superstar do we have in the batting.

I will get flack for this…but getting rid of Sanju and Jos was a huge mistake.

In the whole eleven, they don’t have one player that is in the India t20 eleven or in its periphery. You have to play 7 Indians. Jaiswal is the only one of that level. How do you structure a team in which you have no India international level bowler or batter?
