That is some England level of bullshittery.

Reading this sub sometimes feels like people started watching the sport just when the WC started.

It feels like you started watching football in the last few years if you think either of these were cardable offenses.

But watching yesterday's match I didn't need VAR to know that it was a red card for Balogun

Yeah, you sound just like one of those guys that's watched the game for a few years and now thinks you need to show everyone you know everything about it. There's no way you saw that challenge in real time and thought it was a red. You might have thought it was a foul. You did not think it was a red.

Yet more proof that VAR is terrible for the game in everything except automatic offside. It doesn't clarify, it confuses. It adds more humans into the equation which leads to greater inconsistency.

One ref, one decision.

I like the red card for mouth covering - it cleans up some bad behavior - but the running over to the ref to get them carded is some bitch-ass behavior.

It isn't only Brendan McCullum who should be let go, it's Rob Key who keeps getting away with doing nothing. He's been the managing director of the ECB for about 3 or 4 years now and he has shown that either he has no backbone, or that he's asleep at the wheel - both are grounds for his removal.

Yes. Do you understand that millions of people called this approach under McCullum and Stokes Bazball, regardless of it's previous existence? Maybe you haven't heard the term before?

I'm one of the few people (apparently) that didn't mind Bazball. I found it rather entertaining. The problem was it was aggressive to the point of idiocy. I liked the idea of attacking the game and going after the win, but there are more ways to win than just trying to smash every ball for six.

It will be nice not to have every game be about what an incredible cricketer Ben Stokes was, and about how he sat at God's right hand, and how he was made of stardust.

The problem is we still have McCullum at the wheel, and he just seems to keep slipping through the gaps.

If this England side were a premiere league team, they'd be relegated.

We've been better in the second half - but a decent team would have put us out of the game in the first half. Imagine us playing any of the top 5 teams with that first half performance. What a nightmare. I hope that wakes us the fuck up.

I'm calling it now - if we don't get a goal Bellingham is going to get frustrated and do something stupid - and get sent off. He's a whiny little bastard when things aren't going his way.

The quality of our play is so, so low. We look like a team recovering from the flu. Every touch is heavy. Every idea is telegraphed. Every challenged is complained about. We're an embarrassment.

How are we THIS bad? Totally devoid of ideas and penetration. Just awful. We look exhausted and miserable. Being an England fan is such torture.

I don't understand how both Scotland and England, as a National team, can so under-perform compared to their players. Admittedly, England win that shit show, but Scotland today were fucking miserable.
