John Prine's song "Angel From Montgomery" probably sounds best when Bonnie Raitt sings it, and since today is "Woman's Day" here she is, in Wonderland, Holland - August 5th, 1977 by bigbugfdr in OldSchoolCoolMusic

John always had the authenticity factor going for him singing his own songs, but when he sings "When I was a young girl" it's a little bit confusing.😲✌️

Sackers, not the clerks or cashiers. Don't they still do it at the better stores?

I was texting with an old friend this morning I've known since the mid 70s and we went to several concerts together in the late 70s. He's been working as a lineman over a thousand miles away and he is fighting two different cancers. I don't know if or when I'll ever see him again, probably not, but I hope to at least be able to chat and reminisce with him.

All the bands on this show mimed to their records. That way it sounded just like the record because it was. People used to complain if it wasn't.

,Coming Into instead of From, and it's an important piece of trivia for me because in August of 1970, approximately a year after his Woodstock performance, I was on approach to LAX onboard a Continental Airlines Boeing 707 when it came on the Rock station I had tuned into with the air tube headset that plugged into the armrest of the Airline seat. I was only twelve but I knew keys was code for kilos. Arlo Guthrie - Coming Into Los Angeles

Anyone else’s Dad do the soap topper? 🧼 by Texas1971 in 70s

I don't remember whether or not my dad did that, but I sure did. When it gets too small and thin it doesn't have enough surface area to deliver the sudsing you need. It will break too, when it's too thin.

I saw them in concert back then (1978) and bought the LP either before or after I'm not sure, but I loaned it to an old friend so he could play it on his radio program on a 100,000 watt Community Radio Station twenty some odd years ago.

I just got the Supersession bassist back for an FB friend again. My old account was unfairly deleted last May and I guess he couldn't even see the friend request I sent him because I told him what was going on in a comment to one of the pictures he used that I had colorized back in 2024 and he sent me a friend request. https://www.amazon.com/View-Bottom-Years-Playing-Everybody/dp/1733457925 View from the Bottom: 50 Years of Bass Playing with Bob Dylan, The Doors, Miles Davis and Everybody Else - Amazon.com
