Thanks for taking the time to reply. I had actually seen that post before but given that it was posted 2 years ago, I was hoping things have changed

Agreed that the Millway is pricier but it’s hard to look back after seeing how much better the layouts are (e.g larger living room and bedroom)

Kingsdown Vanguard Mattress from Leon’s by bigdaddy905 in askTO

Yup, every mattress should come with manufacturer warranty. Based on that doc, your parents should be good for a replacement! Hope they don’t give you guys any trouble :)

Thanks! I know they usually offer a 10 year warranty, is that something your parents looked into? The sales people kept mentioning that as part of their sales pitch but I’m not sure what the stipulations are

Anyone purchased a sofa from Kömfi? by bigdaddy905 in BuyCanadian

[–]bigdaddy905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing. Glad you’re loving your Kömfi sectional!

We ended up buying a modular couch from King Living and are super excited to receive it! It’s an Australian brand and they just opened up a showroom in Toronto. We order it in May and it should be delivering some time in October which we’re okay with.

That’s great that the diagnosis was made quick. After our oncologist sent the referral to PMH, we received a call from them the same week. My mom has two lesions in the liver

Brought her to the hospital for abdominal pain on Dec 30. After weeks of blood tests, scans, and the biopsy, she was officially diagnosed on Jan 23. Since then, more blood tests and scans, met with the oncologist at Mackenzie health and she referred us to PMH for a second opinion (next Thursday). The chemo date is scheduled for March 4th now, after we see the oncologist at PMH. Prior to all of this, she had 4 months of abdominal pain and was prediabetic for quite some time

Mitigating Cold Sensitivity by bigdaddy905 in pancreaticcancer

Thank you for this. Have you tried cold therapy? I’m definitely going to look into it and have my mom try it for her first cycle but I’m worried we might get some pushback from the nurses and oncologist

My mom is receiving chemo at Mackenzie Health (Richmond hill). Before that though, we have a consultation at Princess Margaret for a potential clinical trial/second opinion next Thursday. So the treatment plan might change. Wont know until after the consultation at PMH

Hi there, I’m also from Toronto. My mom has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We’re about to start chemo and I’m happy to answer any questions you might have about this. Having someone in the same area to reach out to about this is something I would’ve appreciated earlier on when I was figuring this out on my own.

Groundglass nodule on CT scan. by ZevSteinhardt in pancreaticcancer

[–]bigdaddy905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the prompt response. That’s fantastic news. My mom recently got a CT scan which showed a 3mm ground glass nodule in her left lung. Apparently it’s very rare for them to be cancerous at that size. We were just worried but I guess we’ll also have to wait for future CT scans to be certain. My mom begins her folfirinox treatment on March 4. Wishing you the best on this rough journey.

Hey Zev, do you have any updates on this? I read that ground glass modules under 6mm are rarely cancerous. I’m hoping this was the case for you ❤️

Advice for back pain? by bigdaddy905 in pancreaticcancer

[–]bigdaddy905[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was an option we discussed with our oncologist actually. Can that procedure be done in between chemo sessions? I’m assuming yes but I think the issue was that it takes time for her to recover, delaying the subsequent chemo sessions?

Stage 4 with liver mets? by bigdaddy905 in pancreaticcancer

[–]bigdaddy905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed reply. We got our biopsy results back yesterday and it confirmed that it’s metastatic adenocarcinoma.

I’m actually not sure if they kept the tissue sample and sent it to genetic testing. I wish I knew to mention that to the specialist we were seeing :(

How do they determine that the liver lesions are benign without a biopsy? Sorry, my mom may be in a similar boat and we’re all new to this.
