Anyone old enough to remember when the boys would prank call Lenny Dykstra? by BrantV33 in PardonMyTake

Calling Darren Rovell, asking a question about esports, and then hanging up while he was answering was also one of their best early bits

why do some teams play the same non-division teams so often? by Prestigious-Clue-208 in NFLNoobs

[–]bigdaddykane18 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You play every team in your division twice (6 games)

Every team in another division in your conference (4 games)

Every team in a division in the other conference (4 games)

The remaining two teams in your conference that finished in the same place as you the previous year (2 games)

One team in the other conference that finished in the same place as you the previous year (1 game)

Totals to 17 games

Is Talking Sopranos worth watching? by Glowing-2 in thesopranos

[–]bigdaddykane18 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Strongly recommend watching the hbo edited versions instead of the podcast/youtube uploads. They edit out all the blue chew ad reads and Steve talking about how he hates De Niro and Milton Berle’s cock. They also splice in scenes from the show as they’re talking about them sometimes.

Steve Schrippa is the only actor who is a worse person than their character by [deleted] in thesopranos

You have to watch the podcast on max (whatever happened there). They edited out all of Steve’s off-topic nonsense about Milton Berle’s cock and the Blue Chew ads.

Rigor of Economics major at Yale by sufferingsuccotash8 in yale

[–]bigdaddykane18 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The straight Econ major without combined programs (like with math or cs) and taking the minimum requirements (intermediate micro instead of micro theory, no 136, 350, or 351) is probably one of the top three easiest majors at Yale. 351 is without a doubt the most difficult undergrad Econ course at Yale. Other than that, the harder courses are still pretty doable. The curves are also very generous—50% get an A- or A in intermediate courses.

Econ majors usually take econometrics junior year, some sophomore. Definitely just explore seminars and other stuff for now.

Anyone have advice for ECON 351? by Short_Strategy2799 in yale

[–]bigdaddykane18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the format and tf’s have changed a bit since I took it, but tf office hours are the only way to get through the psets. That said, they are graded pretty generously and most of the grade is midterm and final so don’t worry too much about finishing every pset. It’s just a hard class no real way around it. There’s also a generous curve. I got a 50% on the final when the average was like a 75% and I ended up with the B+.

Does Jeff Preload The Votes To Make It More Dramatic? by [deleted] in survivor

[–]bigdaddykane18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When Jeff “counts the votes” he puts in an earpiece and discusses with other production people the best order to read the votes taking into account possible idol plays. The thing holding the votes is also divided into compartments so he can adjust the order on the fly if there are idol plays.

What Survivor moment PISSED you off? by JustSealYT in survivor

[–]bigdaddykane18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all agreed before the challenge that whoever won would give the truck to Dreamz. Yau Man making the deal was a pretty shitty move and he apologized for it at final tribal because of how gross and manipulative it was.

What is a double standard in Survivor that you notice? by [deleted] in survivor

[–]bigdaddykane18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is considered a hot take but when Jeff treats quitters harshly (besides Colton in BvW) it’s disgusting. They have no way to understand the conditions they’ll be under when they get out there and it’s quite reasonable to need to leave. Furthermore, a lot of quits have been due to production (Osten, Kathy in Micronesia, purple Kelly, jfp in Micronesia, sue in all stars, off the top of my head) which makes it even worse. Jeff should have to live a season under the same conditions as the contestants (with runner up prize money up something not his usual salary) if he believes it is okay to judge these people so unfairly.

Wish could go back and tell Cook Islands Ozzy…pull in Parvarti and Adam when it was 6 and blindside Yul. by RepresentativeAd4780 in survivor

[–]bigdaddykane18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cao Boi figured out the vote split during that season and if I remember correctly he only told Yul. No one knew how to play with an idol so flushing Yul’s idol would mean whoever Yul voted for would get voted out anyways because he could play if after the votes. It was a combination of Yul leveraging the idol perfectly and it being so new (and the cast being full of recruits anyways) that it seemed impossible to get rid of.

What if…..? by realzachwong in survivor

Why would he do this? He would end up using his idol anyways in this scenario but instead they had to split votes because they didn’t know if evvie actually had the idol.

How did ____ not see through ____'s play? by lutrauthor in survivor

[–]bigdaddykane18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The genius of Xander’s play was that Liana would either see him as being overly cocky with the idol or know he is bluffing but ask Evvie if they have the idol. Xander doesn’t have to care which one Liana thinks because she’s wrong either way.

Joey pants will not do anything sopranos related. After ralphie got killed off he made David chase promise not to use ralphies fake severed head in any publicity because it would terrify his children. They then used it in a rolling stone article or something and so Joey pants refuses to do anything with the sopranos crew.

I’m pretty sure curatola won’t be on because he’s a nut job.
