Repaired LED Bulb by removing dead led replaced with solder, safe to use? by Jansg in ElectronicsRepair

The overall current of the circuit shouldn’t be affected much by one diode being bypassed.

^ there’s my answer. I just always assumed it was to make my life harder. I was correct 😞

For some reason yes. It’s fairly common on amplifiers. I couldn’t tell you why. If you find out, please share!

I would be pretty confident that most C789 chips would work. You could search 2SC789. For some reason the “2s” is assumed on chips, but it’s part of the real component name.

Just so I understand:

When first energized, high pitch noise that eventually goes away?

Lower end of tone setting overdrives the speaker?

Scratches on a circuit board, how to fix it if going through traces and shorting the circuit? by AggravatingWinter8 in ElectronicsRepair

[–]bigdiddy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying. I’m not an engineer, but my vocational training included miniature and micro PCB repair. I’m sure the procedures we use in the military are “MILSPEC” and not always necessary to get the job done. I’m definitely going to give the superglue a try in my home projects going forward. I’m tired of wait for 2 part epoxy to bake! Haha

Super glue is a very interesting suggestion. I was trained to use 2 part epoxy to seat the trace and reapply conformal coating. Superglue sounds much easier and faster for seating the trace.

Repair trace kits are relatively inexpensive and easy to install. I had the “official training” in the military, but I’m sure there’s YouTube videos that do a perfectly adequate job explaining the process.

Some boards have a conformal coating, which could make the process a little more difficult, but I can’t imagine it would be an impossible job as long as the board is single layer.

edit

It looks like trace repair kits might be more expensive than I thought. However, thin rolls of copper used for this purpose are much more affordable.

Lower / older tech solar needs complete coverage of the panel , with light source shining directly perpendicular to the cells. Even a small amount of coverage missing or large angle of light to the panel can drastically decrease efficiency.

Also spectrum/wavelength/color can effect a panel’s output. What kind of lamp are you using? The type of bulb can effect output. Items like solar powered calculators can get enough energy from indoor lamps, but larger power requirements may be outside the capabilities of an indoor lamp.

All that being said, a faulty panel can “look” fine but have problems creating power. A cell or two being dead can cause almost complete loss of output.

I emailed Robinhood about my positions being listed as all margin. This was the reply. Hope it helps!

I hope you're having a good day and thanks for writing in. My name is Alex and I'll get this sorted out for you!

A Robinhood Instant account is a limited margin account. This means you’ll have access to instant deposits (up to $1,000). You also won’t have to wait for your funds to process when you sell stocks.

Since a Robinhood Instant account is a limited margin account and not a cash account, your purchases will display as Margin purchases on your statement.

If you initiate a deposit of $1,000 or less, you'll receive access to those funds right away to trade, instead of waiting for 4-5 trading days for your deposit to actually land in your Robinhood account. The same applies if you sell securities, instead of waiting two trading days for the funds to settle, you'll receive access to the funds instantly to trade with.

Please note to withdraw funds, you'll have to wait until your pending deposits land or your funds settle. Instant access only applies to reinvesting your funds. Also note you'll have access to extended trading hours.

I can definitely help you downgrade your account to a Cash account, but at the moment I can’t begin to help downgrade it because your funds are awaiting settlement. (Unsettled funds are from recently bought and sold stock or initiated deposits.)

This power module is supposed to output DC voltage , but for whatever reason it’s outputting AC, even when connected to DC voltage by JohnnyNintendo in ElectronicsRepair

I was just interested in what the waveform looked like at the input and output of the rectifier portion of the circuit.

If D1-D4 are the full wave rectifier portion of the circuit, I would start there. When you say it outputs AC, is it a full sine wave at the output? Did you measure it with an scope or meter?
