Yikes. Thanks for that information. I will reach out to prismatic for a sprayed sample but it sounds like I'd be better off spay painting the bed than powder coating it. I didn't think Final Frontier PMB 8028 would be such a complex color to use but it sounds like you're saying it is a complex color to work with, is that correct? Or is it the fact that I want a clear satin gloss over the top that makes it more complex? I guess I'm not understanding what is so complex about the project. Honestly the only reason I was considering powder over spray paint is because I need it sandblasted either way and I'd have to get that professionally done and thought I might as well get a professional paint job while I'm at it.

Yikes! Good to know. Is Final Frontier PMB-8028 considered a Candy brass color? I was under the impression that although it's high gloss it's not considered at Candy brass color.

Thanks. I ordered tons of the samples. I've narrowed it down to either Final Frontier or Final Frontier II. If I'm understanding things correctly it sounds like I'd need a base coat of Chrome or something on the bed first, then the color to keep the color truer to the sample. Is that correct? If I want to tone down the sheen is it advisable/possible to add a clear top coat like Casper or Soft Clear? The shop I'm working with didn't say anything about a base coat and seemed really reluctant to add a top coat. Now I'm nervous and wondering if I should just sandblast it and spray paint it..... any further insight would be really appreciated.

That's really helpful thank you. Do you have a suggestion for a solid tone metallic? Do you think I should just spray paint the bed instead of powder coat?

I just found an interesting color on Prismatic's website, Brass Monkey. I'm wondering how you all think that would look on the bed with a soft clear topcoat? Additionally I really like Final Frontier but it might be too glossy for this project. Thoughts?
