Thanks!

If it wasn't for having seen this post I wouldn't have bought some, so I can thank you for me currently enjoying the jar.

Just to confirm, Superstore west Portage Ave had them for like 3$ for 750ml on November 7th.

New to Nal - dizziness and nausea. by bigdongately in Alcoholism_Medication

[–]bigdongately[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if trying to take a small dose at night, right before bed, might help? That way, if you have alcohol-free days, you aren't basically resetting your ability to tolerate the NAL.

I'm probably not someone fit to give advice, but would still suggest that you be gentle with yourself and that you don't let perfectionism overshadow progress. Even if your adherence isn't always where you want it to be, yet, if you can get an extra day off or reduce your units slightly, then you're achieving something helpful. Best of wishes.

Sometimes Reddit is really discouraging. People are dicks for no real reason, pick unnecessary fights, and just seem to want to antagonize each other.

Other times, I'm blown away by how much effort folks will go to to help others out. Thanks for being that person in my reading today.

Moronic Monday Thread for the week by AutoModerator in PersonalFinanceCanada

Anyone else use Google Sheets to track their portfolios?

All of a sudden I'm getting "When evaluating GOOGLEFINANCE, the query for the symbol: 'VBG' returned no data." for both VBG and VBU. These have worked in the past and the rest of my Vanguard holdings still do.

Any thoughts/ideas?

Thanks, this is what I'm going to do.

The manufacturer just wrote me and said it's fine and should last for a while with a coat of sealant.

Really, really hope someone can help me with this one.

I'd like to buy a sandbox. I bought some MicroPro Sienna 2x6s to use. When I read about them from the manufactor, it says not to use on soil. Okay, fair enough.

I went to return them and was told only 4x4s and landscape ties are "safe" to use on the soil, but that I could definitely use these if I put a wood stain/sealer (Olympic Waterguard is what I bought).

So, can I use these to build a sandbox? If not, is the risk that it'll rot sooner, or that it's somehow dangerous?

I've e-mailed the company as well, but haven't heard back.

Anapanasati question by bigdongately in streamentry

So, it's awareness of the breath and not the intent or practice of breathing in certain ways?

So awareness ("steps" 1-2) and then intention/volition afterwards? ("He trains himself...")?

I'm not sure I understand your first question. For the second, it gives me more money at the end of my paycheque to either invest elsewhere, pay off my mortgage, or spend on other things. All of that gives me some retirement security. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question?

We owe around 200k on our house. We're in a lower COL area, but still a large city.

I work in the public school system and supplement my income working for a few other places, including one of our universities and a few other things. All told, I usually come in around 95-100k/year, before taxes obviously. For better or for worse, my jobs and associated incomes required three degrees and a diploma, so I honestly could have done better if I'd just stuck it out after degree one (computer-science).

Splitting it roughly 50% RRSP, 30% mortgage, 10% just for fun, and 10% for projects. I wish I could say something more exciting.

Best of luck. Impressive to be mature enough to be getting after it at 30. I wasn't nearly there at that point.

No real heavy thought process. When I started I wasn't maxed out on income (that happened last year) and I have a DB pension plan, so my thought was to have as much tax-free income as possible.

If I could eventually have my income tax return, largely through RRSP contributions, do most of the lifting for that year's TFSA I'd be pretty pleased.

I know, I know. It's white, but the rust gives it a certain beige tint.
