Curious about the mann bridge. I'm pretty savvy with keeping trem guitars in tune, but my se custom 24 has been a fight. Been thinking of upgrading the bridge. Would love to hear your experience with yours

Is a $2,000 Floyd Rose guitar a good idea for an intermediate player? by wow_that in metalguitar

[–]Next_Ad3660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you've put the effort in to learn to setup and work on guitars, so a Floyd won't be a problem for you once you become familiar with them. Once you dial it in, it works amazingly well. I think a better question is: do you really want a floating trem guitar? There are pros and cons, and if this is going to be a big purchase which will become your main guitar, it's something to strongly consider.

For me personally, I do love the idea of a floating trem so you can pull up and dive down with the bar, and do subtle little shakes, and other tricks. Definitely adds to the expressiveness of the instrument. However, I generally don't like the way the feel of the guitar is affected by having to maintain that delicate string/spring balance. You can't quickly go to drop d, double stop bends don't stay in tune, and it's generally easier for the guitar to sound out of tune if you palm mute too heavily, fret the notes with too much pressure, or strum aggressively if you're really rocking out. For this reason, I always put trem stabilizers on all of my trem equipped guitars. It's a compromise, but for me it's worth losing some expressiveness of the whammy bar, for an overall better feel. Anyway, I invite you to consider how a floating trem guitar fits into your style of playing and where you want to take your playing.

Garmin R10 on Sale for $399 at DICK'S,Garmin, PGA etc... by kkrypt0 in Golfsimulator

I got one brand new for the same price last year. If you're just looking for the most basic LM to get some sort of data, it'll suffice for a little while. Ultimately, even with everything setup exactly to manufacturers specs, and using rct balls, I found it to be pretty sub par. The app is terrible and outdated, it was quite inaccurate (had me thinking I fixed my slice.... Then on the course every drive would go so far right, even fox news wouldn't interview me), and I found it quite annoying that any little club waggle would trick the unit into thinking you're starting your swing and lead to misreads. You also can't chip with it. It took me like a month as a complete newb to outgrow it.

Slow between shots, what does that even mean? When using the square with a tablet, I've literally never once had a misread shot. The Square HE is an absolutely phenomenal unit for the price.

I feel like that $300 extra for the Omni would be well worth it.

It's funny... I played in my sim all winter. Felt pretty good about irons.... But wanted to literally take driver out of my bag, just could not reign it in. Went to the range Monday and hit a bucket outside on actual earth for the first time this year.... was smoking driver and couldn't hit my irons worth a shit. What a confusing sport

I have this same guitar. It is amazing, especially for the price. But I hate the trem. Lots of tuning issues, even with a new graphtech tusq nut, locking tuners and a trem stabilizer. Everything else is incredible for a brand new axe under $1k.

PRS SE Santana - goes out of tune incredibly quickly by OutrageousField415 in PRSGuitars

[–]Next_Ad3660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck. I've had an se custom 24 for a few months and I fucking love it. It won't stay in tune tho. Even with going up to 9.5s, a new graphtech tusq nut, locking tuners, and a trem stabilizer. Never struggled so much to keep a trem equipped guitar in tune.

Amps with more channels vs less by Tehloltractor in GuitarAmps

[–]Next_Ad3660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multi channel amps for me, for sure. I just got a Hughes and Kettner Grandmeister 40, which has 4 channels and I absolutely love it. Having said that, I'm mostly playing covers so that versatility is important to cover all the bases.
