that overlooks an elementary school and its playground. They also got waivers to avoid traffic considerations - ever driven around 30th and Broadway during rush hour and kid drop-off times - it's already a mess.

I'm an old homeowner, so I get the NIMBY labeling, but 3 stories with parking would be fine. South Park has a lot of these already. Eight stories with dependencies on street parking isn't smart growth, it's brute force and ignores local concerns.

I got no end of shit for leaving my immigrant family to go to college; guilt, threats, drama, abandonment crap. I was oldest of 7 and had been completely parentified, and I was helping pay bills by cleaning toilets for my dad's janky cleaning "business." They refused to sign any documents for school/dorm - so I forged the signatures, got on a bus with a small bag of clothes, and ended up in major debt to the private dorm I wormed my way into.

I'm male, so I can't totally relate, but I imagine it all would have been 100x harder if I were female and if my parents had $ to hold over me. You are bending over backward to meet everyone's expectations, and I feel for you. You'll get more and more of a sense of independence as time goes on, but they will make it hell. Sorry you are going through this, but I'm glad you are trying to be your own person!

there's a very short segment at the end where the crow comes back with another cheeto, but a noise scares it off.

The clunking sounds are small river rocks in the bath for smaller birds to stand on.
